Greetings Everyone:

Is it possible and will it work if I connect a HDMI cable to my Canon Digital camera and then connect the other end

of the HDMI cable to my Acer A500 Tablet.

When I take a picture or review pictures I've taken before will it showup on the Acer A500 Tablet?

Regards Robert

I'm not sure about your Canon, but my Oly E-620 DSLR shows up as a USB drive when placed in storage mode while connected to the Iconia tablet's USB Host port. It can be accessed through the Gallery app for quick image review on the A500's far larger screen, or ES File Explorer to copy or transfer images to/from the tablet. It's nice to be able to backup or offload my camera's more expensive 8GB CF card to my tablet's far cheaper and four times larger 32GB SDHC media. No live view/remote PC type shutter control, but without software just for that purpose it wasn't expected. Oly has PC based software for that, but no Android -to my knowledge.

If there are any developers out there watching, an app that could be used for interval shooting, live view, storage, etc. in android would be pretty cool! I'd pay for that. Considering the popularity of tablets, there are even camera bags with tablet or laptop pockets built in these days, it seems like a no-brainer app in terms of need and practicality vs. a larger, heavier PC centric solution.
Careful... I've been known to byte, or even twiddle bits.  If sufficiently annoyed I enjoy pushing around electrons to demonstrate my superior potential!  Resistance may be futile, but it is greatly affected by temperature.
