OK, I try to organaize your question.

1. Your wifi reception is quite bad so you wanna boost it.
2. You think that soldering cell phone antenna to the ZT280 board will be helpful.
3. No one answers to your question.

I will trace your post from now. And I want to ask you whether your goal is to improve wifi condition or remodeling hardware.

EDIT: You had Tandy Radio Shack? So Star Trek? Woh, what a nostalgic sound for me!

EDIT2: Did you have a look into 'Very bad WiFi connection and way to fix it (hardware mod)' already?

Zenithink C91 - Change Boot Logo (ZPAD image not the animation)

I made a firmware upgrade with ZT280_H1_2n_C91_Android4.0_0211_V2.5.rar via http://zenithink.com...91.php?download

Now i have Android 4.03 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

I need to change the original ZPAD logo.

I read the forums and searched for a boot.logo file but that file does not exists in firmware(.rar). I also connected the device with "adb shell". There is no boot.logo file or initlogo.rle file. There is a initlogo.rle.bak file but when i rename it or delete it, it comes back after first reboot.

Any ideas?

Perhaps it's because original boot.logo is in BIOS field, so you have to built-in overwriting process in boot strap.

When age of ZT180, reflashing was done thru USB connection to PC. But in ZT280 era, it is changed to use 'zt-update' folder in TF card. This may be for protecting BIOS from inappropriate rewriting.

How about to try 'Boot Logo Manager' or 'Boot Logo Replacer RC4'?

and what is the proccedure for make the 3G dongle works ?
In official cite have procedure for Android 2.x not for 4.x

I can't say whether this tablet is good or bad for you, because I'm not you.

But generally speaking, buy Tablet of Gingerbread ROM if you use it mostly for playing games. Still there's a lot of games that doesn't work on ICS ROM.

I downloaded 'minecraft pocket demo' on my ICS ROM and verified that it works at least in the beginning phase, but I can't tell you that it works perfectly or not.

My reason to select Zenithink's tablet is as follows.
1. Very reasonable price (about 1/3 of iPad)
2. Advanced hardware specs
3. Large screen
4. Easy to update ROM
5. Users communication with Zenithink (this Forum)

ZT280-C91 has 2 ROM versions, Gingerbread(Android 2.3) & ICS(Android 4.0).

In built-in customer's experiments such as cellular phone, ROM means Operating System because it is flashed in Read Only Memory. Sometimes this ROM is rewritable, so that users can upgrade their ROM to the latest version. In this Forum, we are talking about Zenithink's newly released ROM or challenge to develop customized ROMs.

I think you should change this topic to a FAQ post where you give explanations to asked questions and update the first post. Otherwise this encourages people to ask silly questions without using google first, wastes time and is not really easy to follow.

Ok. I have seen many reviews on Youtube. And many people say it is slow and a bit laggy. Is it true? And is there any way to fix it (if it is laggy)? And I will use it In school for : microsoft office word; powerpoint and typing ,and games. Would you suggest it to me? Does it have many free software(games) on android market? I'm talking about Zenithink ZT280 A9

Aonir I am happy with how this thread is but now with questions being asked like the one below yours, you have just been proved right. Questions like are there many apps on the market GOOGLE could answer that in approx 0.1 secs.

EDIT:I am a retired engineer aged 60. So I have plenty of time. Newbies come in to this forum using Google, I think. I want to share time to communicate with newbies. It refleshes my mind.

I don´t know wether this is the same as C91 or not, however I will respond to this as if it was.

I want to make clear that this is NOT an iPad. You cannot expect the same performance as the iPad when it comes to user experience - smoothness and general flow of the user interface. In this regard the iPad is far superiour. This tablet is, at least to me, pretty laggy when zooming, swiping etc - general interaction. BUT - if you can live with that - you get a lot of stuff for the money. However, to me, the user experience is kind of important, so I am looking forward to when the 1,5 GHz dual core tablets are becoming a little more affordable.

To answer your question; if you want to have a computer for MS Office, and do a lot of typing, I would definitely look for a netbook. They are very affordable and there you get MS Windows (and possibility to run MS Office), a hard drive, full usb suppport, a keyboard etc. The tablets are still relatively pricey compared to a netbook.

Upgraded to ICS and can't see some common apps in the market. For example, iplayer, twitter, facebook, just to name a few... Can you help? :-)

Noob question I know, I tried a few thinks to fix it, once changed a parameter in build.prop, devicename I think and it reset my tab! The way I've solved this is to download apps on my handset and copy the apks over. To do this a rooted handset is required and you need a root explorer such as ES file explorer. Apks are stored in /data/app/.

If someone knows a proper fix, it would be great.

Hi RenGyoshi, your living the dream! I plan the same when inretire or win the lottery, I gained alot for forums over the past 10 years and would love to give back...

Anyway to answer your question, there is an edit button under posts that you make. I would suggest you start indexing (1, 2, 3...) the questions and adding / editing the first post. That way noobs can check the first post before search etc.
