Has anyone had issues unpacking rat file? Ark archive manager on Fedora 14, reports an unpacking error? Previous roms have had no issues? Wondering if anyone else has had issues?

Yes, Im getting the same in the system.z280.tar.bz file. This has happened before and then I downloaded from the alternative site only to find there was an error in a different file so patched all the good ones together and flashed the tablet sucessfully. This time round it looks like the same error in the same files on either of the sites so we're stuffed. I'll flag this to Laio.

With the files I downloaded, the 2n download showed a CRC failed with the system.zt280.tar.bz file, the 3m download didn't give me any error when unpacked....

Hi. I'm not sure what you are asking, but you shouldn't flash files that your computer says are corrupted onto your tablet. I'd suggest downloading the 3m one and then replacing the kernel and recovery with the 2n ones in the 2n folder, but if Davey2 had a problem with the 3m one too, not sure....

I'm currently redownloading both of them and seeing if I have any problems unpacking either download.....

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear! I have new kernel saved separately, and separate folders for roms and kernels! I'm hoping for success!! Good luck!!

Downloaded 3M rom, unpacked rom, made file changes back to 2N, flashed tablet, success!! It now reports max frequency as 900mhz, and min frequency as 500mhz. 2 hours uptime, seems stable!! Woohoo!!

The CRC error in 20120211 Z102 -2N system.z280.tar.bz file has now been corrected on the LOCAL download link but the REMOTE link is still giving a CRC error as from 1 hour ago.

Very cool, thank you for the feedback, hope it works on the 3m model as well......;)

It took me a while to figure out how to alter johane's hack so it would work for this ROM.....

I've ran the tablet pretty much all day, several email accounts, gmail account, Google Voice, other accounts, (i.e Slatedroid) synced!! Work area 1 has wi-fi, work area 2 has lan, 1 floor elevator, 200 yard hallway, traveled 4 to 6 times a day. Charger at each station. Tablet in hand. Wi-fi/lan switching, easy and flawless! Seems "smart and snappy", with "strong" lan and wi-fi connection, lags a bit when signal, ahh duhh, is weak, end of hallway, or inside an elevator on 1st floor. Included "flash" player 10.2, installed and freezes trying to go to mobile settings website, as does "flash" 11. Lan or wi-fi. Android Assistant app reports the following (just some basics, it has a wealth of info) current and max frequency 900mhz, min 500 mhz, bogomips 1798.96, screen size 600x976, touch screen, multi touch, wi-fi, bluetooth, microphone, supported. Not supported, GPS, (yet it worked, speed reported was twice vehicle speed, altimeter spot on as was bearing, Google and Google maps will use it for location as well, this also with Gingerbread), Live wallpaper, (yet I'm using one). System reports the following: Model ZT ICS, Android 4.0.3, Kernel 2.6.34, Build number f04ref-eng 4.0.3 ICS f04ref.20120204 eng.root20120204.165424 test-keys. Android market works fine, screen has good feel/response with screen protector and resistive screen. I've "caught" the music player pausing in the middle of flac files. I use SlideIT keyboard, working very smoothly!! powerAMP app music player starts , black screen, stop unexpectedly, back to home screen. Office Suite Pro registered, performed smoothly as well!! All in all, one very sweet rom!! Using it at work today was a joy, even though office and mail apps worked the hardest!!

Tell me how to configure a static IP address, subnet and gateway to the ezernet port.

1. First switch OFF WiFi.

2. Restart tablet with the ethernet cable plugged in.

3. Using Terminal Emulator as SuperUser (type SU)

4. Enter - ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.142 netmask 255.255.255.0 up (example)

5. Enter -
route add default gw 192.168.0.1 dev eth0 (example)

Example :- Address - 192.168.0.142, mask 255.255.255.0 default gateway 192.168.0.1

I think ethernet loses its settings if the tablet goes into standby so it might be a good idea to download and use GScript to quickly reset the ethernet.

Hi,

I'm new here but I've just received my ZT280-102 last week.

It was running android 2.3.4 quite messy at first, but I've flashed to the lates 4.0 and so far i'm pretty impressed with the tablet (especially for the price I paid). I'm missing the multi touch a bit, as i'm used to work on and iPad as well.

Now after my flash to 4.0 I have one small question. Should I have flashed first to the 2.3 which adds 128mb user data partition or is this included in the 4.0 as well?

Thanks for the info !

When you "flash" tablet, previous rom and partitions created are removed. I don't believe it's included in ICS rom(;-((
