This thread is for the discussion of General Topics and Specs for the Window N70

Yuandao N70, Meiying M15

Hello there to anyone swinging by.

I have received a Window N70 to review.
I will attempt to populate this forum with more information as time permits and post the video review once completed.

Here is my quick and dirty review of the device:

Quote

I just received a Window N70 today.
I have only given it a cursory glance... but will be doing a standard Review video for it.
The device seems well built and is a bit heavy due to the metal casing.
It has rounded edges and feels decent to hold... again just a bit heavy.
It does have bluetooth and a SIM slot for WCDMA networks.

Performance wise so far in just browsing around seems to be very smooth.
It is also running Gingerbread instead of ICS, which probably helps.

It comes with a launcher installed that makes the interface look/feel like ICS though.

My only complaint at this time is the lack of a physical volume switch.

It does have a physical Home, menu, back, and power button.
there are virtual volume buttons on the launcher.

Hopefully this is slightly helpful for you.
Let me know if you have specific questions

Let's continue to grow this new community!

So got an update for you.
I believe this unit is also known as the: Meiying M15

This means that we may have additional options for a firmware.

I also got a bit more on the story of "discontinued"
It appears the unit was going to be discontinued, but then the company saw that it was/is going to be popular, so they have re-released it and it will most likely be getting an ICS 4.0.3 build in the nearish future.

Mr Tasslehoff, should we conclude this hasn't been a successful eval?

Sorry... no that's not it... just been busy with work and other device reviews.
If you are looking for a Built in 3G enabled device, then the Window N70 is a good choice.
It is solidly built and operates smoothly.

The Window N70 is still on my list of video reviews to do... just a matter of finding the time.

Thanks for checking in on it though!

I believe the N70 is "2G" ONLY.... not 3G... do keep this in mind. 2G is significantly slower than 3G. It is fine for calls and texting though I am sure...
