Hi folks,

I've just picked up a Chinese 7" import for a song from ebay (the seller is a Cash Converter style store). Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120856640154

It appears to be manufactured by a company named "Daditong" and bears the URI "www.uoften.com" - neither of which have really helped me in tracking down the spec for this unit.

Quadrant identifies it as follows:
CPU: ARM926EJ-S Rev 5 (v5l)
Architecture: 5TEJ
Bogomips: 797.97
Hardware: WMT
Revision: 5
Memory: 468508KB

Android reports the following:
WonderMedia WM8650
Version: Android 2.2
Kernel 2.6.32.9-default
Build: generic-eng2.2Froyo ver 1.5.3-20110819.102300

The unit has a red LED when charging and a green LED when running on battery and has a 4GB NAND.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

The unit has an unknown screenlock password which isn't removed by a factory reset so I'm trying to identify the tablet in order to re-flash it, either with the existing ROM or the latest and greatest stable/speedy ROM around as identified in these forums - However, any advice on the a suitable ROM for it would also be much appreciated :-)

I'm always a bit doubtful about no-name imports but I have to say that this is a cracking little unit for the money.

The restive touchscreen is much more responsive than other restive screens i've tried- almost as responsive as the capacitive screen on the Kogan Agora [EM73] (although that's not a great screen as capacitive screens go).

As no-one appeared to no what this device was I just jumped into flashing some ROMs.

If anyone has the same unit I recommend using the Modroid 1.5.3 ROM (http://www.slatedroi...151-by-wicknix/).
Initially the touchscreen didn't work but following the advice in the ROM README I pulled down the requisite files from the official Eken ROM (I used the Eken M009S version 1.5.5), reflashed, and that sorted out the touchscreen.

I then noticed that I had no sound so I tweaked the Env_uboot sound parameters as also outlined in the README, reflashed, and that gave me a nice little responsive tablet.

I'm very pleased with it and grateful to Wicknix, and others, for their work on the ROM.

I have this same tablet. When trying to install Modroid, it says "Cannot upgrade kernel-NAND!!!" and then "*E* Cannot mount Android-partition"..

You didn't get any error like that?
