I have switched to this version of ICS and am using Lordsbm market and build.prop script.
Everything works including front capacitive buttons. Perhaps its my setup, but a few gapp closes dont bother me and the system is more stable than the official 2.3.4.

Personally, I believe the factory leaked it right after finding out people were flashing other software and making them look bad.[hmmm, who was that guy?????] Either way, pleasantly surprised by this beta 1 0r 2 or what ever it is.

My 2.3.4 is very stable but I am also going to switch over to Gemei ICS 4.0 to test it out, can you tell me what does the Lordsbm & build.prop scripts do?

I flashed my gemei bought from pandawill with the lastest frimware from gemei website but aways freeze, halt and lot of bugs.
Does anyone have the firmware that comes with gemei G2?
I have another gemei, anyone know any method to dump the rom from one gemei (maybe using adb) to reflash on other?

@amon--- you are looking for the original 12/23 rom, not the website listed 12/23[it acctually 1/12]
i believe it is listed in the link in this thread.
OFW 4.0.3 is being distributed to testers and currently is not stable, Im trying to get a copy

Today i read on gemei bbs about the release...there are some bugs like screen rotation.


I finally found the firmware now my gemei works fine.

I think the LYF1 firmware and the G2 4.0.3 are identical. On my baidu group they keep asking who leaked it, and the exact problems i had with it are reported on the Gemei forum, and the baidu forum.
Those include, rotation, bottom bar always there, infinite reboots, trouble flashing, etc.
I have to use google translate, and some of the translations are wild. What the hell does egg pain mean? [headache?]
in general it can be followed, but some times I get lost.

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a tablet Gemei g2, and I'm lost in the android theme because I'm not familiar with this operating system.
What would be the best firmware to upgrade, I have the 2.3.4?

I recommend to NOT flash it until the 4.0.3 FINAL be released.
I'v flashed mine and i'm having alot of troubles with it.

@Amon, Im thinking your machine need to sent to the Gemei service depot.
I am using the beta 3 - 4.0.3 with success.


Here are my observations.

All basic functions work.
Tablet is rooted.
Performance is terrible. I.E. Sub 2900 antutu scores.
App/Game-Limited numbers of usuable programs.
Stock Browser terribly slow, Opera-good alternative
No flash

But...
No crashes

The website just listed a new 2.3.4 firmware, 02/28.
Also the G9 has a 4.0.3 out same day, im interested in what works on that version
