I don't have an Aurora yet (it's on the way) but i wanted to get a sense of what people think about some of these as potential cases and if you have another case or screen protector that you like/dislike share where you got it and details/pictures!

USA Gear Protective Folio Case for Pandigital PLANET R70A200 and NOVA R70F400 Android Tablets

KHOMO Executive Black PU Leather Case Cover with Landscape / Portrait View Stand for Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet

KHOMO PU Carbon Fiber Case Folio Cover for Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet

CaseNinja (Royal Blue) PU Leather Folio Case Cover for Amazon Kindle Fire 7 inch Tablet with Stand

I know some of these are kindle fire cases but the kindle fire dimensions (190 mm x 120 mm x 11.4 mm) are not too far off from the aurora dimensions (187mm x 111mm x 12mm) and i realize the port openings might not line up but that's fine for me i would just take it out for charging, hdmi, cut out the headphone hole?)

also i haven't really seen any aurora cases (except for the merimobiles, pandawill etc. ones but those are generic)

Bought mine from Merimobiles, and paid for the screen protector to be installed. I am wondering if this protector is affecting the light hitting the camera, because the camera is WAAY to dark for use, even in a fairly lit room (and brightness set to +4). I hope someone else can chime in on this issue.

Regarding the cases, be aware that many of the generic cases out there have "corner holders" and as such, will cover the headphone or AC power jack on the left hand side corners, and as well, cover the tablet buttons in the corner on the top side (power, volume and back button).

I don't have a screen protector and the camera tends to take extremely dark captures. You need a bright light on your face or subject in order to get a good picture.

I'm not wasting my time with a case. Don't like bulky toys and don't think it would be worth it to protect such an inexpensive device. ;)

Cool, I liked the second one the most. Wonder if the galaxy tab´s covers fit fine for the Aurora model... if so that would be great!

I've seen different dimensions quoted for the Aurora in some places. The brochure linked here says 189.5 x 122.66 x 9.9.

Yes it really lists one of the dimensions to a precision of 10 microns :)

122.66mm implies a precision of 10 microns ;)

I'm sure it's a typo!

The height of the kindle fire cases are a bit longer. I don't think it'll be a nice fit in my opinion. That's almost 10mm longer

Does anyone know of a tablet that's almost the same dimensions as the aurora? That's our best bet on finding a good case.

As for the screen protector, I hate the normal ones. I like the matte ones because they don't get finger prints easily. I bought an hp touchpad matte protector (9.7") off ebay. The aurora comes with a screen protector already on it, so I took that off and put it directly onto the matte one. Then I used a box cutter and cut along the lines of the original screen protector. As for the hole for the camera, I simply used a hole puncher. Voila, I have a homemade screen protector for the aurora.

ViewSonic ViewPad 7 = 179.4mm x 110mm x 11.5mm
Ainol Aurora= 187mm x 111mm x 12mm

The viewsonic is a little smaller.

@cloudynoctis can you give me the dimensions of your aurora?

That was a good question. I measured it and I got 188mm x 121mm (7.4in x 4.8in). So it seems as though it's almost the exact same measurements as the kindle fire. Where did you get your measurement from? According to pandawill, it's 189 x 123 x 9mm

Interesting... can you measure the depth as well (should be around 10 mm). but i will update the OP with your measurements meaning kindle fire cases (with some adjustments) should be good!

P.S. i got my dimensions from Mcbub and spemall

I share your thoughts on cases. I just bought a little pouch to keep it safe(er) during travel.

Thinking about getting this. Especially now that I've found out the two tablets (fire and aurora) are extremely close in dimensions. I would cut out port holes
