UPDATE: Bluetooth working, please use patched boot images posted at the end of this post.
UPDATE: Included patch instructions guide.

Here is my first custom firmware in the ICS era of T760

It solves some bugs from the Teclast version and gives some choices for storage space and behavior.

Storage:

Rockchip changed the storage behavior in ICS, now it performs as many wanted, the internal memory is now the main storage, never gets hidden, /sdcard is pointed to it (and /external_sd points to the external SD slot)
Problems: all the old (and some new) apps that doesn't include any other option that open and save files in /sdcard will never see data in an external SD card. When we want (or need) to flash a firmware we'll must to backup the internal memory or all the data inside will be lost.

Since I have many app and game data already stored in my SD card, and I don't want to copy it every time I flash a firmware, I modified the boot.img so it will perform as the old firmwares, external SD card is the main storage but with the advantage that now the internal memory never gets hidden when a SD card is inserted. /sdcard points to external SD card and /sdinternal points to the internal memory.

Both options are included in this firmware. Please use the boot image files included at the end of this file and omit those included in main firmware.

Features:
- Rooted (included latest Superuser.apk and su file)
- Included my classic parameter file with 1.3GB for apps and 5GB for internal memory.
- Removed chinese apps (including chinese keboard)
- Included market upgradeable adobe flash
- Main language set to english
- Changed boot animation for a modified version from the moage 4.0.1 firmware.
- Device detected as T760 Teclast when connected to pc (both mtp and ptp modes works)

Bugs fixed:
- acore force closes
- very big widgets
- adb not working
- misspeling names for internal and external storage
- bluetooth not working (solved in boot_originalv2.img and boot_ainov3.img)

Known bugs:
- Protected apps hidden in market
- Camera not working with external apps
- Some html is not well rendered with stock browser (bad libwebcore.so, doesn't affect other browsers)
- When usb debugging is active (adb), the access to storage (internal or external) is blocked.

Hey Aino, thanks for putting work in the ICS Beta, now it works (nearly) the way it should. Also thanks for writing the understandable tutorial. I hope we will get a better version from the teclasbastards soon, to get a even better working version from you :)

Hi Aino,

USB debugging is not working :( . Device is not recognized when USB debugging is on. Drivers are not found.

You mentioned that you fixed abd. I used the boot_original_ics403_760.zip. Should I use your boot.img to get adb working?

Thanks BABACHAN

seems like if your tablet weren't a t760, have you tried any other roms for t760?

please try the new version of boot image (with bluetooth fixed) in the first post, and let me know. I personally tested both new boot images for adb function.

Instead of patching I did a full flash with boot_originalv2 (kernel unchecked). But tablet didn't start after reset. Flashed it with boot.img and it booted fine. So I used the patch approach. But this didn't start either. So it lookes as if there is something wrong with the boot_originalv2 image.

Question: Why is kernel.img unchecked during full flash and checked when patching? And only if you are using original boot.

Ahh sorry the upgrade instructions guide is wrong, I supposedly updated after your first comment but I've found that I uploaded the same old file :(

The correct step is always check the kernel box (and use kernel.img), doesn't matter what boot image version you will use.

The former instruction was valid only if you used the unmodified teclast boot image that includes the kernel inside. But this leaded to skip main bug fixes.

Thank you for your work. Is very nice to see ICS working on T760. Could you build the kernel with ADVANCED CONFIGURATION ENABLED and also with TUN (embedded or module)? I still do not have a VPNC working.

ADB is working :yahoo:

Only remaining problem is youtube stops playing after about 20 seconds. It is at the end of the buffer. Buffer is not filled during playback. Don't know if it is related to my Wifi connnection. Anyone having the same problem?

Had this too, if you change to lower resolution it works.

good to hear your success, about youtube, it may be your connection, I use youtube very often and don't have that problem, you can try what 420p said

with the current config (parameter file and system size) there is only 38MB of free space left. To get more space in system partition you must to modify the parameter file and reflash the rom.
