I'm in a similar position - ordered via a Chinese-based UK webshop without realising the GadgetFreakz shop even existed (and their attractive price). I agree, a UK supplier is far more attractive to me - especially one that is willing to test the device prior to shipping to me. Hmm.

I'll give mine a day or so to reply to my email, asking when it'll be shipped. If they don't reply, I'll just pull the order and place a new one with Gadgetfreakz.

let us know how you get on. This is of course assuming Gadgetfreakz will even get enough stock!

I have put a request in to cancel my order from Pandawill and placed one with GadgetFreakz... hopefully Gadgetfreakz already have their stock dispatched. I also posted it on HotUKDeals but it got taken down after an hour since it got reported as Spam...

EDIT: I have emailed GadgetFreakz to ask about their stock situation and to see if they already have stock incoming.

EDIT2: I already have a reply!
Dear Mr Carson,

We will update our website with more accurate details regarding our dispatch times, at present the 10th February is an approximate due date.
As you may be aware china has just celebrated their Chinese new year and have only just returned back to work with factories etc now re-opening , therefore our stock has not yet shipped but we usually receive our orders within 3-4 days.

Most importantly, we have had a huge number of sales for the Aurora already which may cause some delay as we QC each and every tablet whilst also updating firmware and applying our own custom setup, although we will do everything possible to make sure our orders are dispatched as soon as possible we also want our customers to receive a fully working device and the best possible out of the box experience.

Please check our website which we will update once we have further confirmation on delivery dates.

Kind Regards

The GadgetFreakz Team

...Now that is customer service!

I really want the 16gb but Gadgetfreakz said stock will depend on demand so I don't think they will get it any time soon. I am cancelling my chinagrabber express order and ordering from pandawill instead.

I've ordered the 16gb version via ecrater.co.uk so I will probably stick with that. If these are looking promising function-wise then I'll order another for my kids via Gadgetfreakz

I guess this are the risks of buying cheap things from China...

Having bought numerous electronic devices from Asia, sadly I can testify to that. It's a sad state of affairs when you have to hope that you don't get the dodgy product.

Ok thanks, that is a China seller. It works out cheaper going straight to a Chinese site unless ecrater offers more protection?

It seems that Pandawill has the cheapest price, $154.99+ free shipping. However, I when I view the Aurora on Pandawill it says the cost is $167.99. What is the difference there? Are there promotional codes or discounts for Pandawill?

indeed Chinese seller via paypal - time will tell how good they are. I ordered after just putting in a search into google before finding forums such as this. Probably only a couple of quid or so in it really.

Yes they were doing a $10 off $150+ order $15 off $200+ order for Chinese New Year. They always seem to have promo codes though, not sure what the current promo code is.

There are quite a few on aliexpress offering screen protector, hdmi cable and UK plug for same prices as pandawill and chinagrabber.

16GB model
Site name: Pandawill.com
Cost: $187.99 + 20.51 DHL shipping - 10 coupon code = $198.50
When was the order placed?: January 27, 2012
When did the order arrive?: Has not shipped as of Jan 31
Were there any delays? Holiday? Customs? Other?:

EDIT order cancelled. Just got finished speaking with a rep. Even though the website shows no indication of this, the WAREHOUSE which they get their stock from is still on holiday. They estimate they will open up again in 2 - 4 days, and they again estimate they will have stock to ship out in 7 - 10 days.

EDIT2: second order placed with Chinagrabber who assured me they have the 16gb black aurora in stock. Yeah....whatever...we'll see about that. They say it will ship Friday or Monday, and I paid for DHL so it should be ~4 days after that to my door.

Site name: Chinagrabber.com
Cost: $174.49 + 40.00 DHL shipping = $214.49
When was the order placed?: February 2, 2012
When did the order arrive?:

How much was shipping?: $20.51

They do not stock it yet, waiting for demand for it before stocking, only 8gb for now unfortunately. I am going to order from China, too impatient.

I had ordered from pandawill on Jan 19 but canceled on Jan 30 and ordered from a vendor on aliexpress. My order (white 8gb) apparently just shipped (fedex - via intermediary - to usa). I'll update w/ particulars once it arrives.

Could you share which vendor and how much the Aurora and shipping were?
