ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4 Touch Recovery - TEAM DRH (Update 03/05/12)

This version of ClockworkMod Recovery is based on version 5.5.0.4 and has the following "perks:"
  • Touchscreen
  • Capacitive buttons can select, move up/down, and go back

Download:
http://teamdrh.com/D...malfont_DRH.img (NVFLASH)
http://teamdrh.com/D...ecovery_B15.zip (Flashable Zip)

How to Install:
There are 2 ways to install. Either run the update through the "CWMR5504_recovery_B15.zip" file or use the "CWMR_Touch_5504_B15_normalfont_DRH.img" image if you will be flashing it with NVFLASH.

NVFLASH Command
To flash use the following commands:
nvflash --bl bootloader.bin --download 9 CWMR_Touch_5504_B15_normalfont_DRH.img

Changelog:
  • Added DRH logo
  • Roboto Font
  • Changed Mount UDB Storage to the /EMMC
  • Added the option to format the internal sdcard /emmc
  • Fixed the magic number mismatch issue
  • Ability to select update from External SDCard or Internal SDCard
  • Made internal/external partitions clear
  • Fixed reboot recovery loop
  • Allowed the /misc partition to be formatted incase you get stuck in a reboot recovery loop
  • Swap size bug fixed
  • Kanged commits to fix the UI overlapping the buttons
  • Removed /misc (fixes hanging at birds)
  • Switched from stock Viewsonic kernel to Pershoot's

To Do:
  • Proper reboot into CWM Recovery
  • More will be added to the list as more bugs are encountered (if any)

How to Perform a Backup
For those wanting to do backup. Here is the step by step on how to get it to work until a proper fix is done (thanks raj...didnt' understand what you were were saying at first):
  • REMOVE external sd
  • Boot to CWMR
  • Go to "mounts and storage" & select "mount /sdcard" (this is what I didn't understand..how internal could be seen as /emmc & /sdcard)
  • go back to main menu & select "backup and restore"
  • select "backup to internal sd"
  • watch backup complete (including .android_secure on the internal sd)

Thanks to AlAbbo for the instructions!

Support has already been added to the CWMR Touch Installer as well. You can grab that here.

It seems this version partitions the external sd card when you choose to partition sd card.

Other than that it seems to be working great. I even like the Battery % at the top.

Just wanted to point out the volume keys still navigate also.

I like the new CWM.

Just to clarify the sdcard issue and not state the obvious:

choose zip from internal sdcard seems to use the internal memory

I think the location of the internal sdcard at the bottom of the list is what is throwing people. They see the "choose zip from sdcard" and assume it is the internal memory. Maybe adding external to the line for external sdcard would help, or changing the order in the list.

But I do want to state again.. " This is GREAT!!!!! " Thanks to all the devs that are a part of this.

This is awesome as far as I can tell! but one question, is it possible to format the external sd card with this variant of CWM? and if so could it be to EXT3

Has anyone tried this with non-ICS or <*.39 kernel ROMS? I had trouble getting 5.5.0.2 to work with FlashBack. I'm hoping for a CWM that will work with both current "stable" ROMs and ICS test roms so I can go back and forth easier.

If these are the same problems you were stating in the channel, then it's not just a FB issue. I had the same problem, and it was with all manner of ROMs. Froyo, HC, and the ICS builds all froze. After nvflashing 5.5.0.2 I was freezing at The Birds* after two or three reboots. I'd APX in and NVFlash back to stock, and build up from there. My ritual:

NVFlash to 4349 Stock 1.2, Reboot
Flash CWM 3.0.2.8, Reboot
Partition to 4096/0, Partition back to 2048/0
Wipe both caches
Mount Data and System, format both
Wipe Data/Factory Reset for good measure, Reboot
NVFlash CWM 5.5.0.2, Reboot
Flash my ROM of choice
Rejoice.

About two or three reboots in it freezes on The Birds*

Like I said in the channel though, I have no idea how it solved itself. Using the exact method as above it did it for a while, then stopped. I really wish I could be of more help, but I don't know.

EDIT: I just re-read this post and I learned two things:

1. I think I'm getting a little OCD.
2. This is a DAMN nice tablet. Seriously, hats-off to you Viewsonic. You really made a beautiful piece of awesome. It takes more abuse than any one piece of hardware I have.

May god bless the queen. Ahmen.

That could quite possibly be one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. What the heck is Freddie carrying in his right hand? Pruning shears? Yikes.

This is cool. Easy upgrade from 5.5.0.2 that I have been running since last week's post with instructions of flashing back to stock. Since I missed the alpha testing, I decided to try VEGAn. Runs nice. I can't wait for ICS.

With the Gtab powered off, hold the left side of the volume bar down as you push the power button. When the tab lights up, you can let go of the power button, but continue holding the left side of the volume bar down. When the tab screen goes black then it is in flash mode. You can plug in your usb cable and try your nvflash command again.

Hope this helps.

I am still working on getting the SD/EMMC partitioning working. there appears to be a bug in the method that is being used in partitioning the devices, stay tuned!

Just wanted to post some issues that I had with version 5.5.0.4 touch.

I flashed this version last night and tried using it with flashback 10. I did have at the time a 16 GB micro-SDHC card inserted. It would appear as though when I created the partitions it was partitioning the external card and not the internal memory. Upon reboots I would get magic value mismatches that would not let me proceed to the ROM. Even after removing the card and rebooting into recovery and repartitioning it still would not let me partition correctly. I flashed back to version 3.0.2.8 and was able to partition and install my ROM with no issues. I did not try flashing version 5 touch clockwork with the SD card removed.

Fosser2,

can you please make a note in here that formatting the SDcard will actually format your MICROSD so that people dont get tricked into doing it:) this is BETA so not everything is working.

I flashed to 5.5.0.4 last night and for some reason Amazon market wont accept my log in/ password, Same thing happened with 5.5.0.2. I am Running FB 10.3 (was CWM 3), which I love by the way. Anybody have any ideas why this might be, everything else seems to run smooth. Tried Delvik wipe and partitioned 4096/0 2048/0 and reinstalled Honeycomb still not working. guess I can go back to CMW3 if need be just preping for ICS (can't wait to get fat on ice cream).
