Have you checked if you can hear audio on a set of headphones when it goes out on the speaker? That might give a clue as to whether it's a hardware or software problem.

the battery life needs improvement
has anyone else experienced the poor battery life on this firmware?
I also tried HDMI to my tv; it mirrors the whole tablet on the TV; you can watch videos; browse the web; pretty cool

I think the battery is what it is, so bring a charger.
My one complaint is that it appears to be operating at 800 MHz not 1 GHz as advertised. I think it can be overclocked, but the Kernel has to support it. I don't know if the firmware has any bearing on it or not. I'm not an expert, so maybe someone else can chime in.
LG Optimus
Samsung SCH-720
HP Touchpad, ICS 4.03, WebOS

Is it really mirroring (Duplicate) view or just change view from Tablet to LCD?

i was so happy that the sundream firmware got me rooted, but then, and i'm not sure what did it(installed linux and rom manager) but i don't think it is the firmware, i lost the ability to mount the sdcard and nand storage stopped showing up in setup.
so i went to ramos' site and dl'd the 20120203 firmware thinking a reflash would fix it (it did) BUT:
1) this firmware has no market whatsoever, just the basic apps
2) the tablet is refusing to allow me to downgrade to **any** previous firmware.
it errors with: well i have to go and see it again so i'll post the error notice when i've done that. it seems to be a date related error
any ideas on what to do?
i am not seeing this 0205 update on the ramos site, can someone tell me the url?
thnx

a downgrade from the 0203 fw :
install sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: !less_than_int(1326087172, getprop("ro.build.date.utc")
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation Aborted.
this happens with any prior fw , only the 0203 will install ( and as i mentioned it has no market whatsoever)
sometimes i think this OS was created just to torment it's users......

Try to re-flash or download the firmware once more and then flash it. I also use 0203 and its running well. The best part is, it doesn't drain my battery up.
I don't try 0205 yet, but if you need root and market from 0203 you can follow the step from the first post. That's why you come to this thread right?

yes, that's right, but i already had root via sundream.the fact that ramos may be trying to stop ppl going back suggested to me that they were trying to stop rooting.
did you root 0203 using T's method, that is, do you know that it works with 0203? i still haven't got adb set up on my linux box.
i wrote to ramos about this, so we'll have to wait and see what they say, if they reply at all.

using the usb drivers from the android sdk and T's files, it went easy, but the sdk was very reluctant to install the ramos usb drivers.i found this page very helpful:
http://theunlockr.co...ndroid-devices/
PdaNet sufficently provoked the sdk to install the usb drivers, after which everything was trivial, if a bit tedious.
sdcard and nand are back, 1gig system memory, sound and vid ok, market worked immediately, everything is stable and of course, rooted-->>20120203 factory firmware
thanks much MrT! (Ramos too!)

One question, for some apps I get the response that the device is not compatible with the app I am trying to install
Does anybody have the same issue (and know how to solve it e.g. by change items in the build.prop file in the system directory ?)

Sorry for the long answer, but I saw that u've already fond your solutions. As you are, my ramos's root works with T's guide.

I'm sorry but our CPU (and most Chinese tablet CPU) didn't fully support all apps.

first, for those wanting to use adb on linux (my prvious comments related to win) there is one CRUCIAL setup of UDEV that MUST be done and is detailed here:
http://developer.and...ing/device.html
second, the use of ES file manager in MrT's procedure leaves the permissions of su and
Superuser and the market and google apps in a VERY undesirable state: **writable by ANY user**.
make sure you go back and change that!!!
third, it is trivial to root this and other tablets using adb(assuming the "kernel" will allow it), the thing that most rooting instructions/scripts do that's not so obvious is setting the root partition RW permanently
across reboots.
I QUESTION THE NEED AND SAFETY OF DOING THIS.
i have just rooted my rena3 using adb (making root partition rw, uploading su and Superuser, changing permissions and owner of those appropriately[06755 and 04755), and i get
the expected privilege granting behaviour WITHOUT EXPOSING MY ROOT PARTITION TO MALICIOUS APPS that may want to modify /system covertly.
anytime i need to manipulate that parttition (or let an app that wants to) i just need do
mount -t ext3 -oremount,rw /dev/root /
from the great app "terminal emulator" (after su) and can then lock the partition again when done.
thus i am now examining our procedure here to reverse the permanent rw perms of the /
and i'll post what to do when i find what's changed.
lastly, for linux addicts, DO NOT USE the great app "LINUX INSTALLER" on the ramos with ICS, it will screw it up! this is probably ICS related....i had to reinstall everything.

I understand that decisions about the market still has not found it.
@runejpunk
Have you tried to change something in build.prop?

I don't think its related to the CPU, since I was able to install the app LYNC when I did run 20120130
However I was unable to install it since I changed to 20120203 and I didn't change the CPU during the upgrade
Is anybody not running 20120203 able to check if LYNC is installable from the market.
If so it's probably related to changes in the 20120203 firmware.
