Hi oo0,

Hello, just bought this device, iNote V4.

...snip...

Please, be so kind adding it to the section and pointing me to similar devices I can try ROMs and RECOVERIES from

I also recently purchased the iNote A8-2.

It is the only reasonably priced Android tablet I could find that has a middle ground screen size (8in) and includes stylus input through an active digitizer.
I first owned an Asus EeeNote EA800 (hacks and development: http://forum.tabletp.../asus-eee-line/) and wanted good stylus input with more functionality as a tablet.

The iNote-v4 (in all its forms) appears to be produced by Shenzhen Union One-Stop Information Technology Co.
Their tablet website (in Chinese) is here: http://www.ibnote.com/
Their firmware download page is here: http://www.ibnote.co...c2c3d48eaa.html
The latest firmware version released is: INOTE-V4 5.15 (download link from the above page has expired)
The latest firmware download (5.15) can be grabbed from here: http://peterbarrette...ote-v4_5.15.rar
The build.prop file can be seen here: http://peterbarrette.../build.prop.txt

I should also note that there appear to be at least 3 different versions of this tablet:
iNote A8 (aka A8-1): Has active digitizer pen input only - No touchscreen.
iNote A8-2: Has both active digitizer pen input and 5-point multi-touch provided via the [mg-i2c-ts.ko] driver module.
iNote A8-3: The same as the A8-2, but has a built-in 3G modem.

There appear to be a few clones out there:
HKC-S81 - Claims to have 1GB Ram and have Android 4.0.3 (probably both are false)
Their firmware download link is here: http://www.szhk.com.cn/download.asp
Note that the firmware title states [android4.0.3], but a review of the contents proves that it is actually 2.3.4, and in reality is an older version of the iNote-v4 firmware. It's probably the iNote 5.12 firmware as the firmware appears to be titled based on the build date (ie: 5.15 was built on 15-Apr-2012) even though the build.prop states something wholly different (HKC=2.0.3, iNote=2.0.5).
I can also provide a faster download site for the HKC firmware if requested since the Chinese website download is abysmally slow.

Aishuo T5 - There appear to be multiple versions of this one as well, with less clarity on which model has which features.
Product website: http://www.aishuomid...=194&topnav=186
Firmware download: ???

Generic PC-809 - Most appear to be pen-input only.
Example (one of many): http://www.alibaba.c..._android_2.html
Firmware download: None that I am aware of.

If requested, I can provide dumps of just about anything requested.
Just let me know.

Thanks,
pb

Hi Folks --

First post to SlateDroid ... and I'm new to the realm of tablets, overall ...

I've been looking at this device, which is Allwinner A10 - powered:

http://zareason.com/shop/zatab.html

I'm attracted to the hackability factor, it looks well-built, and I like to support smaller vendors when I can, but I've read in a couple of places online that this machine is a bit underpowered for the price and, worse, that Android 5.0 "most likely" won't support the Allwinner A10.

I would be interested in responses to any of that ... I should note in advance that I am not a big heavy-graphics gamer sort of person. If this will let me play the Android port of Nethack that'd probably suffice for me. :^)

Thanks,

Glenn

VERY expensive for an A10 tablet. I got an 8" one for USD130 direct from China a few months back*. Must be a bit cheaper now. Rooted it with a (windoze) script (thanks again Mr Tasslehof!). & I'm not particularly tech savvy, I just stumble about a bit. If you are, you probably don't need the zareason "open and hackable" razzle zazzle... Marketers have obviously got 'hackers' in their list of 'segments' now.

*Don't get the one I got - crap wifi. This is the one problem with direct from China tabs - problems like this can slip through the net, because the 'sample' of reviewed instances of their tablets is too small. And the manufacturers are too busy rolling out new models to fix it. But A10 is pretty mature and there must be some trouble free models out there. I think dual & quad core A10s are on the way (within weeks if not months) too.

Hy all.

I have a Yarvik Tab 462 http://www.yarvik.co...s_10/TAB462EUK/

I think is the same that Ampe A10 / Sane N10.

I rooted Yarvik and installed CWM 6 from Christian. I've installed CM10 an AOKP + gapps + * Sanei N10 needs n10_compatibility_1.2.x.zip compatibility zip but in 2 cases not working.
I try with wipe data / factory reset only . Try to wipe cache and wipe dalvick cache and format /system... and nothing...

In both cases only shows the logo of Cianogen and Android.

Any Idea?
