just wanted to add my 2cents. I have had my aurora for a few days, flashed the 4.0.3. i dont see any major differences from the original firmware, but i like to try the latest stuff.

Anyhow, I love the tablet, fairly smooth, much improved touch over the last inexpensive tablet i bought for my wife primarily for an ereader, and some soft web surfing. really, for the $160-180, you arent going to find a tablet that can compare.

as far as skype goes, for video calling, the app works, however the video is bad, pink lines(on the far side) and hardly viewable. my preview window is jumpy, but i can see me a bit. The audio works fine though.

I have installed Tango, and that seems to work fairly well. Obviously the video is not perfectly clear, but it is acceptable. my preview window is still a bit jumpy, but is ok enough to frame myself for the far side.

I havent tried overclocking it, or any performace upgrades yet, but soon. I will try to get a quick video of Tango and skype to put up, if anyone is interested.

I would definitely be interested in a video of a skype and/or tango video call using the tablet!

Big problems with video player+subtitles. They always are double, the one with my language the other chinese. When choose from the player to stop subtitles only shows mine(not every time, sometimes the chinese) but no options for Font size etc.
Mobo Video PLayer Pro cashe when start playing
Rockplayer double subtitles.
mVideoPlayer double subtitles.
Dice player crash.
I think that the Aurora has some problems even after hard reset many programs crashes but not sure that ICS 4.0.3 will help with the video problems.
I use cyrilic but even if I encode the subtitles they are double.

Yes, just installed MoboPlayer. The same thing. How is possible Settings->Show Subtitle-> uncheck but still see subtitles?
One more question you told that we can set live wallpapers on Aurora. How?

I beleive I was originally mistaken on the Live Wallpapers, but I think it is still possible.
There are four files that could be put in to the System/app folder that may enable Live Wallpapers.

Not sure on the partition... but honestly you don't need the system partition to be any bigger and waste space.
The app partition is 1 GB and the Data partition is 5.85... so that should leave about 1 gb or less to share between the boot and system partition.

Hi community! I have a question about battery. How long the battery holds a charge? Many people from 4pda.ru write that the battery is discharged 3 hours. Really the capacity is 3700 mAh? Battery status displays "In use in Battery management 1500mAh". Thank you so much in advance for you answer.

I received two 32GB Cellet brand MicroSD cards.. They were listed as Class 2 on the front of the card, but the actual read speed tests put them at Class 8. I can confirm that they work great with the Aurora. 32GB Approved!

Thanks tasselhof!
I have the 16gb on order from chinagrabber.
I was going to get one in hong kong as I'm there next month, but a fellow board member is there and jus bought one.... Turned out more expensive than online!

Also does it really matter what class the card is? As the class determines te write speed and not the read speed.

The 32GB card I tested has the Circle 2 on the front... which signaled to me it was class 2, but I was expecting a class 6 per my order.
I ran speed test on it though and the write speed held steady at 8mbps, which would make it a Class 8 card.

As you said class is purely about write speed.... I think the device itself doesn't care about the class... just perhaps the data you put on and how fast it needs to be accessed such as High Def video.

It is related to the Hardware decoder somehow. If you disable it you dont get hard subs. Of course that is not a solution as in software the A10 procesor is to weeks to decode 720p MKV.
Also the problem is that HW decoder sutitle engine is hard set to the chineese locale! so if you have additional letters in your country be it nordic or slavic you get random chinese chars in the subs. Really anoying.

I wonder how to switch it off or at least change the caracter set.

That's great news, I guess I may as well order the 8Gb version then, if I can drop in a 32Gb card anyway :D

Hi Henry,

I experienced the same problems with various video players downloaded from the Market as you stated.
I just return to my originally internal video player on my Aurora which is Gallery 2160P (the icon with the word "2160P". It works fine with the subtitles.
Give it a try.

Hey guys,
Just received yesterday my 8GB black Aurora from Pandawill (overall experience good, more in the proper topic). My first impressions are quite positive, Aurora is very nice from the outside, a little strange voice on the right side at the edge, when pushing it stronger than usual. I absolutely agree with everything in the reviews of MrTasselhof. Really very nice screen.
Now I just try to make the right decision how to move on from chinese ICS (it arrived with 4.0.3), it would be nice to read some recommendations (full market, adobe flash player, skype are the most sensitive questions as I saw - do we have a table or something where we can see the differences, pro-s, con-s...?).
What really impressed me is not only the ladies on the video arrived with Aurora (looking good on 42"plasma fullHD!), but its 2160p player played quite nicely a FullHD 1080p/50 videocamera TS file, simply ashamed my laptop (premium AMD vision) and notebook (Dell Latitude e4310), unfortunately I was not able to check it via HDMI to plasma, maybe later when kids sleeping).. so it looks promising from the inside also.
I'm quite newbie to tell you my experience with IPS screen: I started to use it via the screen protector it arrived with... (and in fact did not remove it yet as it caused no problem... I should remove it, right?)
Hope that everybody will receive his/her Aurora ASAP and will fulfill the expectations.
