I'm glad to hear. Since you use 20120112 would you do me a favor. Please try Playing some MKV Video and please let know if you have squeaky sound especially when people talk. Because 20120115 have that bug. And one more thing, do you wipe data or reset first when flashing back to 20120112?? Thx in advance.

Well, there actually is some low-level static on the audio. I didn't catch it until I used some ear buds, then it is more noticeable. Even when nothing is running and I am at the main screen, I can hear it with the ear buds on. It is in the background when I play any video format (I tried MKV, MP4, AVI, and MPG). It isn't really annoying, I only notice it when no one is speaking or there is no music. It didn't seem to be more pronounced with an MKV video or when people talk. Guess it's due to a faulty/poor speaker driver??

In answer to your second question, I didn't wipe any data nor did I reset the tablet before reflashing it. Hope this helps.

Glad you got it back, Azzy. That seems to be the first thing to try if there is a problem.....run the flash again. Here is the link for the 20120112 update: http://dl.dbank.com/c0r9o5tvu3. I'm with you though, no more flashing for me either. It's working now, so I am happy.

Hi guys,

Im following this thread for a long time. And just want to share my experience. Ive started by updating with the unofficial 20120112 update. As I found out the official update 20120102 came out I was close to update it -> but heaven thanks I did not. As we all "propably" know by know updating from the sund_dream to the official update is a sure brick. But close after the offical update was released sun_dream added his 20120202 unofficial update which got the last offical updates in it --> it will fix the standbye time (correct sleep mode everytime) and the sound bug with HD-mkv's and .ts. Ive updatet it and it runs like a charme, everything fixed I needed :)!! No data lost, still got all my games and stuff. So of course I cant guarantee that It works for you guys to, but I would think so. here is the link:

http://dl.dbank.com/c0a6g1lex1

I could mirror it if wanted!

use at your own risk! --> If wanted I can upload some movie showing it (youtube/top115).

Hey guys,

Looks like there is yet another "official" update on the Ramos website. Has anyone tried this yet? Are all these updates really necessary? Here's the link: http://www.ramos.com...=support&id=66. Look for the link in the lower right-hand corner of the page with the date 20120203.

the 1GB internal storage (from 512MB) yes it is a <necessary>
it's good that they're is a movement (with the various updates), but you must be careful not to brick the machine

Well today I successfully upgraded my new W6HD Tablet with the RAMOS websites latest firmware - 20120203.
It went without a hitch and my tablet now indicates 1Gb of internal storage instead of 512Mb.
A word of warning though I appear to have lost all the really nice gallery photos which came installed initially and also the default games - Angry Birds Rio, Fruit Ninja and the aeroplane game.
The 3 movie trailors that came on the tablet have also disappeared :-(
Currently I am trying to complete the process to gain access to the full Market which should get Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja back.
Can anyone upload the 2 Galleries of photos anywhere so they can be reinstalled in this situation?
If I had realised this was going to happen I could have backed them up myself, I wrongly assumed that the official RAMOS update would leave it with the same stuff installed as it arrived with.

Thanks,
Barry.

Hey all.

I found a post from Sun_Dream (our favorite "unofficial" ICS programmer) on the Ramos Chinese forum left a few hours ago. Using Google Translate, I'm not exactly sure of what he is saying, but here's the translation:

"Blue Devils W6HD Universal Root package: Download extract the three files to the memory card root directory, turn off the machine. Holding down the power + M into the Root Brush, you can retain the data and Root completed. Support all w6hd firmware Root to solve the failure of official frequent updates of the old Root. http://t.cn/zOwvq6Q"

It seems that he's suggesting that once you run this firmware, you won't brick your tablet when you install any future firmware from him, then go back to Ramos', then back to his, etc. If so, it's great that he is aware of the situations some have had and is trying to offer a remedy for the problem.

What advantage would there be to updating the firmware? I believe mine is rooted out of the box. The version is 20120112. Also is there anywhere to get accessories? I know I can cut a screen protector to size although I don't want to and I want to get a case or cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I've got the same problem with my W6HD. It came direct from China with Gingerbread 2.3, I updated it with the ICS 4.0 20111228 with no problems (other than loosing all the bonus apps and pictures). I then updated to ICS 4.03 20120130 and everything was working fine. Right up until my son was playing Angry Birds on it and it froze with the music repeating the same second or so over and over. I tried to exit, no luck. I tried to power off, no luck. I ended up pressing the reset button a number of times before it would shut down. When I tried to restart it I would get to the green android logo then it just froze again. I had to hit the reset again. This time it wouldn't come back at all. I kept trying to start it for a few days then one time I saw the drained battery symbol show up. It vanished after a few seconds, then nothing again. I was thinking that there must be a hard reset inside but didn't see anything when I had it open. I'm thinking of charge then disconnect the battery for a while then reconnect and try the update for ICS 4.03 20120203 and see if it will take.

has anyone installed the 20120205 firmware?

does it have market? does anyone know what other features are added or deleted on this firmware?
hope the 32G SD Card can still be used with it
I should be getting my Ramos Tablet any day now and just recently saved that firmware to my computer
I also have 0112 and 0203 saved as well but wanted to ask about the 0205 and Market

Hi all!
I recently got my own W6HD and found it to be a bit stumped by its lack of the android market app so I decided to install the latest official firmware(120215) (which as I understand sports the market app). I copied the right files (uImage,uImage_recovery,update.zip,factory_update_p aram.aml,u-boot-aml-ucl.bin) to an external memory card, loaded the battery full and started the tablet by pressing the power button and the M-button simultaneously. The tablet started booting, showed the @9 logo for a short period of time (shorter than when I usually start it) and then went black and completely unresponsive. I am a bit worried as it seems that it is utterly bricked. When I press the power button (with or without the memory card inserted) it does simply nothing, it does not even turn the back light on. What did I do wrong and is there any way to bring it back again?
Thanks /Simon

I just updated my firmware with the most recent official firmware (20120203), and everything seems good. However, in a bit of a rush, I only had a 1GB SD card. When I upgrade my SD card, will I need to update the firmware, or is the firmware as I suspect; on the internal memory?

Im using the sundream 20120202 Version for quite a long time. All mayor bugs are fixed so far... BUT lately Ive got some anoying problemes:
1. turning the WiFi on and off is getting stuck. sometimes I cant activate wifi at all... and there are connectivity problems too...
really anoying...

2. Once I had a 16GB music micro-sd card in my ramos, now as I use my normal card I still got all the titles in all my players librarys
of course they cant be played, and the new "songs" cant be found...

3. I cant find a remove SD or hardrive button in the settings (I often using differnt sd cards or external memory hdds and usb-sticks)
removing them causes always trouble... cant put them back in etc.

4. I only got 512mb APP storage.... but there should be a new version out with 1gig appstorage from the nand

5. CPU clockrate is 800mhz and no overclock app is able to change it :((

ARE THERE ANY OTHER W6HD users out there?!?!

which firmware do you use?
which problems do you have?

and lat but not least:
is there any known way to get off the sundream version to an offical version without bricking the w6hd entirely...
I loved to try another rom...
