I do not view the Kindle Fire as a Tablet, since it lacks important features that you find in a tablet.

ie:

Camera
bluetooth
microphone

I view the KF as more of an ereader with streaming capabilities. But definitely NOT a tablet.

I feel the fire is a good tablet if you do some modding to it. Yes I know it doesn't have a camera, but do I really need another camera? I have a cell phone AND a digital camera! I got the fire for Xmas, and I was able to successfully root it, and install ADWEX on it so it looks like a tablet now. I kept the original Amazon software on it because I like that interface too. I know that CM7 is also available for the fire... If you got the fire feel free to ask me about how I modded mine 8)

The fire is exceptional for an ereader, but it's complete lack of expandability and interface other than the wireless (i.e. no bluetooth) take it out of the mainstream tablet market. That said, I think it's great you are taking and expanding it's abilities and, more importantly, are willing to help share the knowledge on how you did it.

I looked long and hard at the KF, but decided on the Velocity Micro Cruz PS47, as it is sort of the KF with bluetooth and memory expansion.
