Do note: This is to be used at your own risk & please read the readme.txt.

Since there are new ICS firmwares out for various Allwinner A10 Tablet, I'd make a script to cater for all A10 tablets.

Obviously, I do not have all A10 tablets, so there could be bugs. Also this is to be use at your own risk.

Download link

Here's what my script will do for Allwinner A10 tablet:

1. Enable full Android market access like Skype, Launcherpro which were missing from default market.
2. Google framework and apps added (like maps, voicesearch, etc. Location not working)
3. Some Wifi improvements. (May drain battery a little bit more)
4. Improve UI scrolling responsivesness.
5. Render UI with GPU.
6. JPEG quality adjusted to 100%.
7. Photo & video recording quality improved.
8. Added 4 essential free apps option.
9. Fool games this tablet is SGS2 so as to allows you to play.

Update 4th Jan 2012
10. Added option for 1024x768 tablet without SGS2 compatibility.

*If you want to do a batch apk installation just throw the apk files into apps folder.
*Flash 11.1.102.59 will work with Opera browser.

Refer to readme.txt for more infos.

Hi! I have an Onda VX610W for a few days ago and this will help me.Thank you very much for the Script, when i try it i will tell you if it works on this model.

A little off-topic:

I tried for days to unpack the ONDA VX610W firmware and have not succeeded.I tried Unyaffs and Cramfs decompression but I have not got any results.

The problem it´s that ONDA VX610W update comes in .img file type.

¿Any Suggestions?

First of all, script is working. Thank you! It was tested right after flashing device with last Onda Android 4.0.1-0.4 DPT firmware.
ADB Drivers: For my Onda Vi30 Deluxe (A10), worked perfect those ones.

Problems:
- script - last line of marketfull.bat should be call adb reboot, not call restart (tablet it won't restart!)
- additional apk's were not installed, due to writting permission, but is not a major problem - all of them can be installed later

Big issue:
Your build.prop script is compiled for "handheld" devices (<7"), so even my device support 1024x768, Android ICS interface stays on 800x480 which sux
.
I said interface, because running any program use entire screen
(tested with Super HD Player and File Manager - which are in Onda stock firmware, playing movies and seeing pictures). Basically, only Android ICS administration menu run on 800x600px (tip for users: change font from NORMAL to LARGE or EXTRA LARGE). But hey, Onda is now an Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone
which unleash hundreds of apps from Google market. But keep in mind for next version of script to have another build.prop, just for 1024 pixels wide.

Market is working and recognise device as a tablet. Latitude is working. Google mail syncing is working. Tablet successfully restarted twice.

Good work!

Thanks for the feedbacks.
Actually it's just adb reboot not call adb reboot. Call restart was for calling a restart.bat which I decided not to use.

I'll see what I can do about the 1024x768 issue, as Onda Vi30 Deluxe, Bomrn V99 & SXSE S11 are the only A10 currently running that resolution, but I doubt any here has the later 2 yet. But I'm concern about those running 4:3 screen (800x600) display.

Also SGS2 were choosen as the GPU is the same as Allwinner A10 tablets. Will see what can be done for 800x600 & 1024x768 build.prop

Edit: Would someone post a Vi20/Vi30w Deluxe build.prop? Thanks

Manage to update my tablet firmware to last version of script (January 4th) and choose obviously 1024x768px resolution because is more practical for my device
than foolin' Market for a few apps that can be easily installed by hand.

So i have installed stock 4.0.1. firmware from Onda's website, then first version of script (800px wide) and then last version (1024px wide). It's all working. So for those who have not Google Market and does not speak chinese to use crappy *Onda Market*, use LORDSBM updated script.

Script is working and is a gem.

thanks for all the work on the Allwinner A10 (AKA Cortex A8 1GHz + Mali 400MHz)

i am on the fence about getting this (is it a great deal for the price point about $100???)
i have a few questions about these China pads

is it a decent chipset do they really handle Flash well?

when they advertise 5-point Multi-Touch does this mean its a real 5 point M-T or might it somehow be resistive?

i have seen them listed as having USB OTG or USB HOST
does this mean i can plug in a flash drive / HD into it (i did see some with 2 mini USB posts (i guess one for charging and one for USB HOST) could i add a USB Bluetooth or GPS adapter

will this handle Android 4.0 (ICS) (seems to be answered)

these are the low price seller i found for the Allwinner A10
DVC 7 Inch 5 Points Touch Capacitive Screen 2160P Video 3D Video Out Android 2.3 8GB 512MB Q7 Enhanced Allwinner A10 Tablet PC 8gb $100

7" Capacitive Android 2.3 Tablet w/ Camera, WiFi, HDMI & TF (Cortex A8 1.5GHz / 4GB) 4gb $106.50

7" Allwinner A10 Cortex A8 1GHz Android 2.3 Tablet PC 5 point Capacitive WiFi 4gb $107.85

thanks for any info

Yes. GPS, Bluetooth, 3G adapter - any device which supports USB - BUT - your tablet firmware has to have build in various modules for "exotic" devices (i manage to get 3G internet from a Huawei 3G dongle, but was listed as compatible on manufacturer website). Ask seller/manufacturer first; check on various forums for any particular device if this feature is a must-have.

A few notes:
- if you want Android 4, get a minimum 512 MB memory device and 8GB card, because all new apk's are memory and card space hogs
- for web browsing (most of today's web pages are made for 960px wide and most of websites are not designed for 800x600px or less), Twitter, Facebook, ebook, movies - get a 1024px x 768px wide device, with 4:3 form factor (fast battery draining but think about your eyes)
- as any other chinese device, made without quality control from a major external brand, you'll see the difference (cheaper materials, poor support, poor firmware) comparing it to a brand tablet, but the price is always at most 50% for the same hardware specifications, so if you are on a tight budget, choose a chinese manufacturer (pay attention - there are a few respectable chinese manufacturers with good products but also there are a lot of junks from unknown companies - don't buy the cheapest tablet because you will have almost always unpleasant surprises - again, search the web before payment)

1. Make sure USB debugging is on
2. Look at the DOS/command screen to see if there's any error like device not found.
3. If it's device not found, follow the USB driver link in 1st post to install the USB driver.
4. IF it's other error, do state here.

Lord,

Thank you very much for this script. Made the already awesome ICS version sweeter. I just have one question, is there a way to add a line in the build.prop for the the Galaxy S2 Build? I have previously used your script on earlier firmwares that had this included in the build.prop and it worked flawlessly.

I can add the line or edit one that is already in this build.prop as i have already changed the lcd density .prop I would just need the line t

hi there having a real problem with this finally ran the script but now everytime i try do something ( and even when im not i get randomly) i get a lot of force close messages:-

the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpecectedly and lots of others rendering the tablet pretty useless, can this be rectified?

in my about phone section the details are as follows:-

model - onda mid

android version 4.0.1

baseband version - unknown (is this the problem??)

kernel version 2.6.36-android lgm@xserver#2

build number - mid-eng 4.0.1 itl41d eng.lgm.20111229.214857 test-keys

I would be hugely grateful if anyone can help me with this as its for a gift for my sister and now that seems out of the window - only reason i did this was to try and get the proper market place.

thanks in advance

VX610W ICS 4.0 firmware seems to be a little buggy. I would suggest u do these.

1. reflash the firmware (without format)
2. use root explorer or astro to look in /system/ where u'll find build.prop
3. either past what's in the build.prop here or have the file uploaded somewhere so I can try do a custom build.prop for u.

Hi lord thanks for this theproblem i know have is that the tablet won't let me open anything as keeps coming up with the force close message therefore I can't open pdna to get it connected to the pc. It just mounts as a usb, is there anyway to install a new driver other than pdna or is there a way to do anything to fix it just by accessing through the files when mounted as a usb, ie can you drag and drop into there to fix the issues? Alternatively can I take it back to it's previous settings which I believe were android 2.3.4

Many thanks

ah ok not just my old pc then thats good to know lol, will just keep trying, do you know of any quick wins to get the tablet recognised by the pc i.e any decent drivers, since i think this is going to be quite hard being that the tablet wont let me navigate to pdna to enable the connection due to all the force close messages.

Thank you so much Lord! Your script is working great on my Onda Vi30 Deluxe ICS. One issue though that it would be very nice if you can help with. The screen resolution should be 1024X768. However, after running the script my system shows a resolution of 976X768. Have I done something wrong?
Thanks Again.

#34 ·
thanks lordsbm for ur scripts... been following your work and many other users since I had my Novo 7A... now with Onda VX610W, I'm pretty contented! it's really great and there were no graphic flaws when we rotate our tablets... i wonder this issue has been rectified with N7A... Tried updating to ICS before but there were glitches... anyway, thanks again!

i would try your Script but i have this Table : Bmorn V9 Allwinner A10 (Cortex-
with Android: 2.3.4 Baseband 2.0.3 Kernel 2.6.36-android.
I bought this from here : http://bestmid.com/bmorn-v9-allwinner-a10-8-inch-capacitive-5-point-1080p-hdmi-8g.html

so what should i do, i really want a script to change this bad 800x600 resulution to 1024 and a update for Android 4.0

On Dgmorn they say that an updatet rom for this will be released end of this month, but i dont want to wait. So should i try your Script? And how can i backup the rom? Or Reflash this if your script kill it.

EDIT:

I got impatient and decided to try the script to see what would happen. I selected option 1 (800 x 480) and it seems to be working fine for me. No forced closed errors. ICS itself seems a little buggy but the script seems to have worked fine.
