What are you trying to do? Neither of these files add market to your WPDN, they just fix the no matching content error that began occurring for those that have the market hack already flashed. You must have flashed Kewlguy's enhanced FW with GAPPS or SD card enhancement for market first before using these files or they really shouldn't impact your system performance at all. One file is for fixing no matching content if you flashed Kewlguy's full FW, the other file is if you just flashed his market only SD card enhancement. I think all of that is explained in the first post.

Thank you panengineer, for fixing a problem I didn't realize I had.

Edit 1/12/2012: There were over 600 downloads of the older files, but I decided to clean up this post and just have the one set. They are the same as the originals other than a name change and I zipped them as shared files because some people were having trouble with the old ones.
Here is a fix for the no matching content error for the market hack for the WPDN
I took the build prop from Kewlguy's 2.11 supplemental file, edited it to change the model and fingerprint as shown below, and made a flashable version. This will not make the other changes that the 2.11 supplemental file makes, so it is intended more for people who don't want those or who have already flashed the one from the first post of his thread and just need the market fix.
ro.product.model=PD_Novel
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion/mahimahi:2.1-update1/ERE27/24178:user/release-keys
After doing this you may have to set the date back 1 day and reboot to get market to update or go to settings/applications/manage applications/market and clear cache, force stop and reboot to get market to update.
EDIT: A couple of other posters have reported getting the market to update after this fix by using market on the PC to change the name of their device or by updating one of their apps they previously downloaded from market as those show in my apps. Obviously, the second way would only work if you previously had market, not sure about the first. I have not confirmed either of these methods.
Also, pay attention to the reboot part of my instructions, I see some having problems getting the market to update, only to say it later worked when they were on their WPDN. This may just be because of a reboot when they picked their Novel.
EDIT: I decided to go ahead and attach my file for Kewlguy's 2.11 supplement plus the market fix above.
Thanks panengineer...I've been having this problem for over a month and this finally fixed it. I sure wish I'd seen this sooner...

Been frustrated by this problem for quite some time... thanks a million for this fix!!!
I've noticed that the market app won't let me change content filtering to show "all apps." Seems stuck on "high maturity" ...even if I have set a security PIN number. Since there is no "apply" button on this market app setting I guess there is no real way of knowing if the setting is even being changed at all... which apparently it is not. Any advice? ... is there another setting somewhere overriding this permission setting?? Nothing I do seems to let me change this setting to "show all" apps.
Also... in viewing the market on my PC many apps say they are "incompatible" with my "device." I can see the device model listed as "PD_Novel," but my question is does the "nickname" of the device matter? Or is there an alternative name to use from Google's list of "compatible devices," ...or any way to (safely) trick the market into thinking the PDN IS one of the listed compatible devices?
Thanks in advance and keep up the great work. This site has been incredibly helpful!

All apps that require more than android 2.1 should say they are not compatible with your device. If you try and install them you will get a parsing error. This is now a lot of apps since we are now up to android 4 and ice cream sandwich while the novel is still running on eclair. You can use the other flash file in Kewlguy's thread when several of us were working on fixing this problem, it changes the device to a nexus one. I don't think it makes any difference and you will lose all your apps if you do it and start over in google with a new device.
Edit: I also think that might of messed up some peoples books purchased on some of the ereader apps.

Ahh... Totally makes sense now. Thanks for the info!
I for one am very greatful to all you brilliant people (and this awesomely useful site) for helping we PDN owners realize a usefulness far beyond (my personal) wildest dreams for this humble little unit. I would have been happy with using it for my intended purpose upon purchase - as merely an ebook reader. But I suppose beggers can't be choosers. I'm still amazed the PDN can do so much!
So what's the word on how far it can be pushed as far as android 4 and/or beyond? ...given it's limited processor speed and memory.
I'm sure I'ts only a matter of time before interest in further development of CFW dries up but I plan on using this thing as long as possible... if only for my fondness for underdogs, ha ha! ...It's the little tablet that could... "I think I can! I think I can!" ;-)

If you look in the firmware development thread, a couple of developers have honeycomb and ics running on the novel. However, rotation and audio still don't work as it is difficult to get the drivers right without the source code. They seem to have more working in gingerbread cm7, I think audio is the only thing left to get working there. If they stick with it long enough I believe they might succeed getting it all working reasonably well.
