Well, there's you and me so far. I second your suggestion. I've only had this (Pandigital Star) new toy for a couple days, but I have found a lot of usefull stuff here. Got the training wheels off. Having lots of fun.

Thanks for agreeing with me. As for the section reason, it's so that all the information can be consolidated. Actually, it's possible that the Pandigital Planet, and Pandigital Nova sections might need to be Merged with the section for the Pandigital Star. The only reason for this merge would be that the devices are extremely similar, with minor configuration changes, and once the unlocking of the kernel, and u-boot is complete, it'll be quick to create new firmwares for all three.

This is a good example of why a Pandigital Star section is needed. or at least a merged Pandigital Pan8006 section ( Pandigital's renaming of the Amlogic 8726m chip )

I think I got a copy of the older one here.
Ahhh yes, found the original, and an experimental one...
one that I leeched before PD stopped allowing people to browse and download on thier own.

I hope they will allow browsing again.

Got my Pandigital Star just before Christmas. It came with FW PR7W_A_BN_W_A_C_11092011. It made several tries to download an update last night - very slow - finally did it at about 3:00 am today and got version 12302011. Funny thing, checking the SDcard, the new 12302011.zip is there at root, and there is a new Dir called OLD FIRMWARE that contains the SAME (12302011.zip) file. No sign of 11092011 version.

Eventually the firmwares will appear in the Pandigital downloads area -- at least that's my hope.
When they do appear, the 12302011 and the experimental ones should be there. If you really really really want the original and can't wait, send me a personal message and I can give you the URL to it on my private server.

Ok. This is gonna be easy for you. First of all, if it does what you need it to do, you don't have to do anything. Just use it. From what you listed, you probably want a little more functionality than it has now. What I did was went to Amazon in the browser and downloaded their app store. It has a much better selection of apps than Getjar. This may give you what you need. I would like Google Play market on mine, so I rooted it. All that means is to give you more access to the file system of the device. This is very easy on this device. Download an app called Z4Root from the Amazon market and run it. That's it. There are several good Youtube videos if you have questions.
I am going to use this method to apply the Play store: http://www.the-ebook...oid-market.html
Lemme know if I can help with anything else
