(this message is originally from thread Custom ROM) I have a ZT-280 C91, Part number on my tablet is ZT280H12NC91M512F8. Bought from X10, looks genuine according to pictures posted on another thread. X10 forum has not been any help, since this model is relatively new to their site.

Tablet got corrupted somehow and now during boot it gets stuck on image of green android. I can push/pull files using adb, but cannot do an adb shell. It responds with "- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -"

When I try to do an update with files from Zenithink (http://zenithink.com...ownews_274.html) on SD card in zt-update as instructed, power up holding volume up button, the tablet responds with:

VOL- KEY pressed
Prepare enter mmc update mode
no kernel valid, press any key to continue

I've tried numerous other tips that I have read, nothing works.

Hmm, why Volume + ? It's suposed to be camera button you keep pressed, and then power on if I remember correctly

Solved. Just kept trying with the SD card, tried several different cards. I think crossing my eyes while doing process worked. Also, it was camera button, not up volume button. Camera button used to give me message "Recovery skipped" after saying it was going to update.

Using ZT280_H1_2n_C91_Android2.3_1206_GO_V1.33 ROM

I have the exact same hardware, but haven't loaded that version yet - how's it working out for you? Is it rooted? I'm running ZT280_H1_2n_C91_Android2.3_1110_GO_v1.27 ROM, and it IS rooted - the original wasn't. SlateDroid has been an IMMENSE help!!

time, only to supplement the information of the problem, these messages are exactly what appears on my tablet when trying to update by pressing the button on the camera:

camera key ...
Prepare enter mmc update mode
starting update
(do not touch panel, the recovery will calibration)
skip recovery

what should I do to upgrade the device?

It appears that the tabet cannot read the contents of your zt-update folder with the uncompressed ROM files (from the downloaded RAR) on your sdcard, so it skips the flashing process....

Usually reformatting your sdcard, using another sdcard, or uncompressing the downloaded ROM RAR file with a program like 7zip helps with this issue.....
