If Arne can get a good working armV6 processor work, that will open ICS up to several devices. Very nice.

Ohh! peice of candy. hehe family guy.

Sweet.

Looks like my Xperia X10 has also gotten an ICS upgrade (xda) - http://www.xda-devel...-gets-ics-port/

It used GB drivers to get the touchscreen, accelometer and phone calls working, but no wifi, pretty unstable and occasional WLOD.

I was going to volunteer my new PC (Intel i5, 8gb ram) but you've already got me beat. Plus I'd have to boot into Win7 every morning, because my wife hates linux.

I might have a go at changing files once I flash it, seeing if I can fix something, maybe. We'll see.

Just saw this thread

Quote

- with .32 from pebe(not blinking screen issue)

This port is for the LG gt-540 which shipped with eclair and has armv6 - they were also getting the blinking screen issue and fixed it with a kernel mod. I pm'd them for more information maybe we can just fix it in source.

I finally got a successful compile. My device tree is not right yet but it compiled properly for armv5 (I'm waiting for a better armv6 fix or for that patch to pass code review) anyways this will make everything easier to trouble shoot - now I won't have to wait an hour for each compile and I'll be able to start fixing it.

Miraculously it booted right up first try woot onto the graphics

Are you using the pre-cooked ARM6 ROM, or are you compiling for ARM5 from source? Not sure which has more pitfalls.

There is no arm6 rom yet anywhere I'm compiling for armv5 from source and when a fix for armv6 compilation is ready it will be no problem to make the changes. It will compile without errors but it will need to be made clean so another hour to recompile :D

Making progress on graphics - on first compile I had two flickery images on screen and they were very pink now I have one flickery image of the correct color - hah if anyone feels like helping out I could use some searchers out looking for answers I know other devices are having this flickery screen issue and I want to narrow down the cause.

Here's some info from a s3c6410 2.6.29 kernel build.

config MACH_SMDK6410
bool "SMDK6410"
select CPU_S3C6410
select S3C_DEV_HSMMC
select S3C_DEV_HSMMC1
select S3C_DEV_I2C1
select S3C_DEV_FB
select S3C6410_SETUP_SDHCI
select S3C64XX_SETUP_I2C1
select S3C64XX_SETUP_FB_24BPP
help
Machine support for the Samsung SMDK6410

Our cpu does support 16BPP as we see with SDKs, but it looks like the kernel is tweaked for 24BPP.

Oh I misread one of the comments on that linked site.

http://aosp.mikegapi....pl/?page_id=14

I'll flash it once I get home, and maybe I'll actually notice something helpful.

ok found a gralloc difference that might be to blame - it's been backported already by the cyanogenmod team but when I apply it I get a compile error because webrtc was disabled due to armv5 incompatibility - however I found a fix for webrtc so I'll apply that then the gralloc fix then ... profit?

I'm stealing underpants as we speak enders.

Had to run make clean because it crashed during compile - apparently that overclock wasn't as stable as I thought. It'll finish compiling in a few minutes hopefully without error. I added some sensor stuff in there and the gralloc and webrtc fix and cleaned up the device tree a bit adding some things to make my life easier. If I can get it to stop flickering I'll upload my compiled version.

Dont you wish compiling the android OS was as easy as compiling apps for android. Eclipse makes amateur programmers such as myself lazy and spoiled. lol
