New to this please help...I have a pdp Android Version 2.3.4 Build after updating is PR72 A BN W A C 12192011 first off I dont see this build anywhere listed guess its new if anyone wants I have a copy downloaded to computer...I downloaded the rom file a-opednpdp-2.3.4+v2.1-spz0(1).zip to my scan disk 8 gig sd card, and made sure the update file was no longer on the main directory of the pandigital memory, then I inserted the sd card and did a hard reboot power vol etc. when I get to reboot screen says
e: failed to mount/sdcard
e: cant mount /sdcard/factory_update_parm.eml
mount /media succeed!

So I figure it has recognized the card in the last line...then I go to apply update from SD card again it says failed to mount sc card but top line show ../ does that mean it cant read the file??? Like I said new to this what am I doing wrong ready to use pdp as a very expensive frisbee...

Any chance getting this ported over to the nova/star ect?

Instructions for OpenPDP-2.3.4 ROM!

• Download zip file to your SDcard
  make sure there are no other update zips on your sdcard or PDP internal storage, including official updates!
• Shut down the device.
• Boot to Recovery. (Vol. up + Power for 3 sec)
• Push Vol. Up until "Apply update from SDcard".
• Push Vol. Up until you have the update highlighted.
• Push Vol. Down to apply update.
• Reboot once flashed. (push Vol. Down from recovery menu)

Dear SpzO,

I just read about you over on the Unlockr site and they gave your description of how to "unlock and root" a Pandigital Planet. I downloaded the file and put it on my SD card. I rebooted by holding down the power button while pressing the up volume control to get to the screen to "boot from SD card". This unit does not let me reboot this way. Is there another way to reboot from the SD card on different versions of the PanDigital Planet? Please advise if you can help me here. I'm new to tablets and this is becoming a pain. Since this machine according to others is excellent once you Root it, I am really hoping that I can figure this out soon. Thanks in advance.

You need to have the unit powered off before accessing the recovery menu. So turn the PDP off, then hold Vol.Up+Power until the recovery menu appears.
