So far its GB-2.3 or the beta ICS-4.0

But if you dont need built in gps then go for the C91

Hi all, i have been looking around to get my hands on an entry level android tablet, and after some basic research, i have decided to go with zenithink z102, so can anyone suggest me a seller, which sells "authentic" zenithink z102s as it would really suck if I end up with a colone which is not supported by zenithink.
thanks

Well just make sure your "Z102" does NOT have built-in internal Bluetooth, the Zenthink chip-sets do not have a bluetooth chip, Zenithink ONLY supports an add-on Bluetooth dongle. So if you see a "Z102" with internal Bluetooth it's a fake and any Zenithink software upgrade wont work.

hi guys im a newb to tablets and im blown away by the z102 at the price it is 89£ plus shiping from hong kong. I like this thread cos its positive about the z102, particulary motherofallbattles, and then other guys come in who've never used it; disbelieving the resistive screen could be good, are suddenly positive when they've had a go on one ! Makes me totally stoked that this is a good choice !

I should introduce myself in the general area and go about newb q lol

Very cool.

I believe the Z102 is still using Froyo, at least the latest updated ROM on the Zenithink site (ROM 1018) is Froyo - http://www.zenithink...ownews_234.html

If you need a Forum made in the A9 section, PM me....

Yes, I know the CPU is a Cortex A9, I was talking about the Android OS, back in October 2011 (when I posted) there was only a Android Froyo ROM for the Z102's.....

I think the zenithink z102 should be Android 2.3!
My link
Otherwise;
as it advertised there.
it can not be Adobe Flash Player 11.0
the android 2.2 froyo can only update to Flash 10.1!

my zenithink is android 4.0 http://www.android-t...thernet-4g.html

Just wondering how many people run hardware testing software (e.g. Quick System Info) to verify the specs of their tablets. I've had two so far and neither was what was claimed - if I can trust the diagnostic programs.

I've just bought a elonex 1012et v2 from toys r us (at UKPounds 99.95).

According to the box and quick start manual it should have 512Mb ram and android 2.3.

Quick system info reports 790Mb ram (I presume that is 1Gb less whatever is allocated as video memory) and it is running ICS (which the elonex support page says is not available for the 1012et!!)

It has a 2Mpixel front camera.

from top on short side with button on front sockets are: headphones, fullsize USB OTG, microSD, USB,, mini HDMI, ethernet, power (5v,)

regarding the charger the manual states it will not charge battery unless the tablet is switched off, fortunately it charges while in use.

along top long side we have from right - wifi on/off switch, speaker grill, home button, menu button, vol rocker switch, power on/off, microphone, second speaker grill.

on botttom long side is reset hole.

Quick system info reportts:

internal sd - 2.45gb
internal storage 738mb
system storage 217mb
system cache 61.94mb
memory 790Mb
processor ARMv7 revision 2 (v71) freq 400Mhz to 1000Mhz ondemand.

from about tablet I get:

android 4.0.3
kernel 3.0.8
build 1012et_Vm1-eng.4.0.3.eng root 1228b

Now I've happily had a elonex 1000et for about 18 months - but only because I used the zt180 firmware updates.

Now can anyone confirm what the real device is that elonex have rebadged - is it the zt-280, z102???

What I need is to get the ability to plug in an external harddrive that I had on the zt180 because this definitely doesn't work also how to root the tablet would help.

one thing that does work is freeciv which didn't on the zt180.

There is no 3.0.8 kernel for the ZT-180, ZT-280, and ZT-282 Zenithink series tablets.... I think the ZT-283's do use the 3.0.8 kernel.....

I don't think the tablet you have is a rebranded Zenithink tablet, but I could be wrong....
