1/ i have'nt had any success with full rooting too... but to those who need to go back to stock firmware for whatever reason, get your firmware from here
- http://forum.xda-dev...6&postcount=27. Just follow the instructions.

2/ Here are the links to list of stuff that works in paladin. Though i cannot vouch that i've tried everything... ;-p
- http://www.pandawill...-Novo-7-Paladin

3/ For the daredevil who would like to try custom ROM head over to. I havent tested this also.

4/ Wanting to upgrade to 4.0.3? I'm pretty sure this one is not official from Ainol though.

Ran this script to root an Eken T01A Allwinner tablet. It didn't root Posted Image. Superuser, Root Check and RON Toolbox all concur. Is it actually not suitable for this device, please?

Script Tool COMPLETE... But i see some need USB drivers... I will repackage them in... You will probably need to manually install them though... I am not sure what to say though. On my Windows 7 Enterprise 32-Bit computer, it just worked... i have done firmware upgrades for this device on this pc as well though and I think that installs drivers when you first unpackage the firmware upgrade tool.

Here is the new tool...

http://topnotchtable...nced-ROOT-Guide

Revamped - Got rid of the superfluous (kill bluetooth for instance... there is not bluetooth apk file to kill(rename)... changed that and other stuff). T*arseelhof did great work on this tool but it was originally meant for another device or perhaps general purpose so a little overhauling and streamlining was in order i felt.

Okay... then... NEW OPTIONS... Well here... this is from the page (no reason I should type it all twice lol)...

New Top Notch "Auto-MOD" tool:

--Used for Rooting (Replaces Legacy Rooting Script)

--Used as part of the "Ready2GO" Service

--Installs Netflix, Skype, Better Keyboard 8, Google Voice Search, YouTube, and several other apps!

--Modifies your "build.prop" file to improve Android Market Search Results, Internet Browsing Speed (we think :)...), App compatibility (we know...), Camera Picture and Record Quality (maybe?...)

--Also includes the optional choice to disable services that drain battery life... like 3G and Telephony...

--This great tool was heavily based off of T*arseelhof's original rooting script (some of it is identical...) and the Android APK modding package! Thanks!

That "Ready2Go" option is the one that installs a bunch of stuff. Also, it copies over the backup files for ADW launcher (the new UI on 1.8t firmware) that lays out apps the way I like them :). To get this to work (if you want it) just restore from backup (it is an ADW launcher option) and the restart ADW. It will however leave you with a bunch of "blank" widgets that need to be deleted. Launchers can never backup widgets correctly... :(

It also sets the base/persistant - language/location/timezone to all USA East Coast...

It also kills a couple of the "chinese only" apps that are annoying. Save one... It leaves the backgrounds collection app as the backgrounds it has are really slick...

I am going to update it at some point with the lates IRIS apk as that is another cool app that works now that we have voice search :)...

Tell me if you run into any snags... Getting past step 1 (getting the device connected) I think will be the biggest hurdle but this is no different than T*arseelhof's original script in that regards. Options 1 - 3 are all totally his and untouched :).

Cheers,

-Roman

I've been trying to run this script unsuccessfully. I don't know why. I'm running the 1.6 upgrade. I had upgraded to ICS but found it much too unstable. One problem I've noticed with Windows 7 is the problem it seems to have with really connecting to Android tablets.

I was thinking of installing Ubuntu Linux in parallel on my Windows machine and installing the Android SDK. Do you think that method would create a better connection? I also have 2 MAC machines.

Any ideas on the success factor?

I recommend this post to help getting your PC to connect to the tablet.

Hi,

The script is a fantastic idea...brilliant work.

Can anyone tell me if this has worked for a "Pipo U1Pro" or a "Momo7 RK3066" tablet? They have not yet arrived here, but I am keen to be able to root them both when they are delivered.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, can CWM be put onto these Tablets too, I read somewhere that CWM will not work on the U1Pro, but only on the basic U1?

Many thanks again.

Apologies to all, I am new and have not got used to the layout of this forum. I seem to have replied to a post about a different tablet.
Still I really could do with an answer or two for my questions though if anyone could oblige.
I did read somewhere that the script would work on the Pipo U1Pro and the Momo7 3066, but I really need confirmation as I don't want to damage my new machine.

Many thanks again.

Hello All,

In this post is a relatively basic .BAT script.

Download Link: Mediafire.com - Tasselhof-RootScript.rar

Alternate Link: DropBox.com - Tasselhof-RootScript.rar

This is a straightforward script.
It's sole purpose is to get your device rooted and provide the tools to verify it.
- Cleaned Up some extra unneeded files and added the Android Market App Upgrade from ContemptX! - Thanks!

I have added some options to Disable and Enable services to hopefully help with battery life.

**IMPORTANT PRE-CHECK LIST**

Connect your tablet using the OTG port (normal procedure)
-
YOU MUST USE THE INCLUDED USB CABLE
Make sure USB Debugging is ENABLED

- Settings --> Applications --> Development --> USB debugging (Green Checkmark)
Make sure to check Device Manager to ensure that there aren't any devices with a yellow exclamation mark.
- Right Click on My Computer --> Manage Device --> Device Manager

Here is a link to a driver package I created... (not positive it contains the needed one for this device, but it is a good place to start)
- Download Link: Mediafire.com - Android-USB-MultipleDriverPack.rar

Instructions:

Extract the folder to ANY location you wish. (it is self contained)

Run !RUN-ME-Tasselhof-RootScript.bat

You will be given the following prompt:

Make sure to enable USB Debugging on the tablet
- Settings -) Applications -) Development -) USB debugging (green checkmark)
'
1. Check Tablet Connection
2. Verify Tablet is ROOT Capable (with this script)
3. Run ROOT Script
'
***** ADDITIONAL OPTIONS - (ROOT REQUIRED) *****
4. Upgrade Android Market App
5. Disable Services to Increase Battery Life
- Phone, 3G, Bluetooth, Provision, VPN
6. Re-Enable All Services
7. Enable Only 3G Services
8. Enable Only Bluetooth Service
9. Quit
'
Choose Option (1 thru 9):

Option 3 Performs the actual ROOT process.
- It also installs the following programs: (don't worry if they are already installed)

* Superuser
* Root Checker
* Root Explorer
* Busybox

Option 4 attempts to replace the Android Market App with an updated version.
Option 5 Disables various service APKs to try to save battery life.

Bluetooth.apk
Mms.apk
Provision.apk
TelephonyProvider.apk
VpnServices.apk
Network3gMonitor.apk
shortcut3g.apk
Phone.apk - (Requires Immediate Hard Power Off and Reboot)

Option 6 Re-Enables all of the above services
Option 7 Re-Enables all of the above services except Bluetooth.apk
Option 8 Re-Enables only Bluetooth.apk

Watch the magic happen :p

Enjoy!
