Hello guys,

i need a little decision help from you guys... i want to take my V8 with me in my holidays to egypt next month. I want to set it up with all my Music (from iTunes) and some Movies i got...

BUT... I dont know which ROM i should install... Singularity or Modroid?

1st) Which firmware is faster? Which one has less bugs? What are you running?

2nd) Howto Sync my iTunes Library to my Android Device?

3rd) Howto format my DVD's in an Android-playable format which is not so space consuming...?

Thanks in advance!

Hi janDr0id:

I will try to answer your questions.

1-. I am usind the uberoid v9 and I found it stable and fast even when te tablet has a 800Mhz Processor. I do not think that is bug free but I have not had any problem with it yet. It is very easy to install
Here you are the link to there.
http://techknow.free...d-v9-t1096.html
2-. I don't think that you can connect the device to the computer as a storage device and sync the iTunes Library but what you can do is use a SD card as storage device in your computer and then insert that card to the tablet... you can use real player in the tablet. It can be easylly download from here http://www.freewarel.../app/realplayer
Another thing that you can do is copy your music from the PC to the tablet using the WiFi connection and a FTP server installed in the tablet and a FTP client in the computer like Filezilla. Here the link for the FTP server http://www.freewarel...roid/app/swiftp and here the link for Filezilla http://filezilla-project.org/.
3.-There is a easy way to do it. first you need to install the Any Video Convert application in your PC http://www.any-video...for_video_free/ and then you can convert your movies into MP4 format once that done copy the movie to a SDCard and play it with Real Player.

I don't how much space take a Movie converted into MP4 but thats depend on the screen size, frames per second and other factors that you can setup during the convertion.

I hope that all this help you.##

Regards
Jorge

wow thanks a lot dude, i might come back to you for some other questions or maybe you're interested in sharing our experieneces we have with the Tablet? got a messenger to contact you? :) since this forum for the V8 is not really active... and you seem to be very helpful...

by installation:
do i have to pay attention on anything cause on the other firmwares there is a difference between tablets... green led one blue led one etc. with vibrate and without...

#edit: i see there is a "compatible devices"-list... how to identify mine? I bought the standard V8 from Merimobiles.com
here is the link:

I have what looks like a MID v8. It has a back button in the center and a camera in the bottom corner. The aspect ratio is 4:3. The person before me did not backup the original software. I have tried rom after rom with different number options. The touchscreen does not work with any of them. What can i do?

the only thing you can do is flash it , but you have to find the right env file
I know its a pain in the butt , went thru the same thing myself until I found the right one. I must have downloaded 20 different firmwares before I found one that worked , once I found that one I grabbed the env file and saved it in a separate location . Now I just add the working env and tada it works
