I'm just wondering what other C71 owners think of the tablet's battery life....

I only get abut 1.5 hours before it asks me to plug in the tablet for charging. Maybe a little bit longer in I turn the display brightness way down. Do I just have a weak battery or are others having the same experience?

Seems very low to me. My Wopad i7 gets about 4.5 hours with 100% brightness. Pretty sure you should get close to 3 hours.

Zenithink says 4 hours max with WiFi for the C71 & C91 on their site.
C71 has 3000mAh battery
C91 has 4000mAh battery

Download & install Elixir 2. Play with it to learn the program. Shutdown. Fully recharge tablet overnight. Reboot and use Elixir 2 to get your uptime tablet use. Also check that battery is charged close to 100%.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, it seemed kind of low, that's why I asked what others were experiencing on their C71. Seems a few problems I have no one else is experiencing, so i just wanted to double check.....

Hopefully someone with a C71 will reply to this topic...

With wifi and using the tablet, 1.5-2h, I think also it's too short. No good for a travel.
I also don't like the wall charger, it's big (I have to use also an EU adapter). And we really need to bring it with us because of the battery, and the travel bags for 7" are small.

C91 is 7.4V 3000~3500mAh( normal is 3000mAh )
C71 is 3.7V 3000~3800mAh( normal is 3500mAh )

C71 first batch battery discharge interval is 3.2v ~ 3.7v, second batch discharge interval is 3.4~3.9v.Before 10.1, all C71s are first batch. The 3.7v system has some bug when below 3.3xv,So here is some un-exact factor for discharge all power. We use sofe compensate it.It not very accurate. You just flash the newest firmware and test how time it can offer. I think high discharge will be more than 2 hours, and normal discharge will be more than 3 hours before low battery power off.

My supplier is saying that battery life should be similar to the Wopad i7.... It sounds like it is much shorter :(...

I was really excited about this device because it looks like the build quality and performance are really really nice. And the price is very low, which means I would have something viable for when the Kindle Fire starts shipping in a few hours... Sigh*

There really arn't any good contenders against the Kindle Fire (I mean tablets that either have specs as good as for that price or tablets that are significantly cheaper but still have "okay" specs...)

If someone can use Elixir 2 to confirm battery life for internet browsing at half-brightness that would be nice :)

Thanks!

max discharge is different with normal discharge. normal discharge can increase 50% time more.

A good tip for preserving battery life on the C71 is to put it into Airplane mode, then reactivate WiFi (if you're using it). This forces the C71's radio from operating all together which saves a fair bit of power.

The fire can make all the claims it wants but the battery life will more than likely be around 2-3 hours which is what the C71 is at max with WiFi on. My Galaxy S II says something like 6 hours talk time. But when I have my WiFi on at my local pool hall (The building must be made of steel) it will literally go dead in about 2 hours. Root the C71 and use set cpu along with some aggressive brightness and wi-fi discipline to get some more juice out of it.

You can't use setcpu on the C71.

That is a very good tip.
Also, here is what I do:
1. When using, I leave off Settings > Accounts & Sync > Allow Background Data...which is a battery hog.
2. I set Brightness to 40%, which is negligble. The screen on the C71 is plenty crisp and bright and it's still nice imo at less than 50% brightness.
3. Wifi not on when not needing it to access the web.
4. I turn off auto-rotate. It seems like a simple thing, but it can actually discharge the battery more than you think if it's constantly flipping from portrait to landscape using the sensors.
5. I don't use super bright wallpaper or "Live" wallpapers. They are both worth a new few percent of battery drain.

Do all of the above and you should see SIGNIFICANT improvement on the battery life.
I'm still breaking mine in, but I've had it up above 7 hours on medium usage before needing a charge and I'm intending to push that number higher.

Good luck!

Hi, I'm going to buy this tablet, but I have one question. How long the battery works in this tablet? Can I replace the battery when the battery is damaged.
Sorry for my bad English.
Thank you very much

On Froyo, Im lucky to get 2 hours with wifi on, not sure if I have a defective battery or not. I can almost literally watch it drain.

The I re flashed it with GB and the battery lasts 3-4 hours.

I just got my daughter a c71 and I am wondering about charging and charging led. When the c71 is off and it is charging the led is red, will the red led turn off or change color when it is fully charged? The charge never gets past 98%. Any info would be great.

Thanks

Hi Omarahum.

The red led just stays on even after 2 hours. When I go into the battery status it shows charging and 98% if I remove the charger it show discharging and 1oo%. As soon as I plug in the charger it goes back to 98%. I know the battery is being fully charged I just though the red led would turn off or change color when it is full. I also don't under stand why charging only gets to 98% but battery will show 100%

When the tablet is on, it takes longer for the battery to charge, best to charge while the tablet is off for a fully charged battery. Also the battery stats are not that accurate (I believe they use software to compensate when the tablet is on, but it is still not accurate), but the red LED should turn off when it is no longer charging the battery......
