Hi,
I recently purchased what appears to be a T9 tablet from tradecheckout.
I want to get it rooted (using gingerbreak I guess), but that seems to need an adb connection (if I'm not mistaken).
However I can't seem to let windows install the necessary driver.
About Device > build number says:
default
GINGERBREAD.eng.foxluo.20110827.144540
Any idea how I can get this working?
TIA

Gingerbreak needs to be on your T9 to run but you have a couple of choices on how to get it there. You could download it from a website using the browser on your T9, you could get a Micro SD card, load gingerbreak onto it using your computer then plug the card into your T9 or you can use the USB cable that came with your T9 and connect it to your computer, enable USB storage and transfer it that way.
The last method requires drivers if your computer doesn't already have them (Windows 7 for example works straight out of the box), any of the firmware downloads that have been listed on this forum comes with the drivers you'll need.
Basically you don't need ADB to install Gingerbreak, it's just one way of many. Also you will need to tell your T9 to allow you to install Applications from unknown sources. Go to Settings >> Applications and make sure "Unknown sources" is ticked.
Nonz.

Thanks,
I got it working and I even found that I had a driver on my laptop somewhere (from my search for a driver for mid816 a couple of months ago, I guess).
