Hi there to cut a long story short, i decided to flash my tablet and now it's a brick.

I turn it on and i get a green LED and black screen, When i turn it off and power though it, it's RED.

does anyone know how i can fix this tablet, as i have tried just about every ROM possible for it.

Do you think it's gone to tablet heaven?

It's green Led

No vibration.

Hy there friend! I don't like to say the following to you, but I had a tablet with the exact specifications as yours in the past and it happened to me exactly what happened to you. I tried everything that I could think of, but nothing worked. So I sold it. It is dead, as I asked every professional in this field and none could give me a positive answer. The problem with me now is that, after I sold mine, now I need it back as I bought another one and need a component from another one broken down like your. So if you think of selling it, please let me know. Or at least let me know even if you don't wnat to sell it.

Thank you dear friend.
Hope that I helped you in some way.
Have a nice day!

Nope - I disagree. I would first go to the following website: HCH TechKnow - Uberoid v8 There are a lot of different options available and one is almost certainly likely to fix your tablet. Plus there is a good number of experienced people there to help you troubleshoot. Don't give up, mate! :)

Hi, me again, sorry for the delay on my results.

I've tried all the ROM's possible now that is suggested for my tablet.

Not one seems to work, I've given my tablet now to some guy who works in a mobile phone shop

who is going to have a look at it, he thinks maybe it's my eprom.

Thanks all anyway.

can this actually be done from flashing? Last thing i would have thought to be honest.

Still waiting word back.

Thanks all anyway.

I guess you don't have the proper bootloader. I did exactly the same. Mine is telechips powered, but I had made backups of everything, but the bootloader. Most of the bootloaders (lk.rom) I fount didn't bring up the LCD driver, so the display remained totally dead, but some worked almost fine. At least I could reach to the stage of accessing /proc/kmsg via adb and see where the problem is.
My next task is to find the serial port and connect it to a PC, so I can follow the boot messages.
Sorry I am not giving you the answer you are waiting for, but just telling you to not give up.
Btw what tool did you use for flashing?

Bricking the M009S seems to be a very common theme, I have bricked mine and spent all weekend pouring through the forums looking for answers, so far its all in vain. I think the best thing to do it put it back in its box, pretend you never bought it and avoid flashing ROM's in the future. PS - anyone thinking of flaming, I have a first in computing and physics and considerable electronics knowledge, taking the circuit board apart isnt a sensible option.

Noobie here,

May not be completely bricked. I thought I had bricked my china tablet. I was only getting a stuck "Please wait . . ." type message. I was using a 32gig class 10 card.

I reformated a 1gig card maybe class 2 (all I had), added installer and I'm trying that now. It does seem like the capacity and/or speed of the microcard has a definite impact.

I am now loading, but looping intro. I hope I'm just looking to id the correct tablet. My wife has sent me on an errand. So still working on it.

Good luck on your tablet.

Best regards,

Still Noobie . . .

On moding a China 7" tablet: Green on, red charging, 4gig memory. Oh boy, you have to have some time available for some of these mods!!! 8) Kind of fun though.

Got home yesterday and saw I need to add details to my previous reply so here goes.

Trying to bootload the "uberoid" mod,v10, ubertweaked. I reformated twice my 32gig microsd card while adding the bootloader in my pc, I tried this several times. I still got locked up installing the rom at the yellow "please wait . . .) message during boot up. Really beginning to think made a brick.

After more research, and reading that the card can make a difference, switched to a 1gig card--a much slower card--and reformating before adding the bootloader, I started loading :good: Only to hang up on the honeycomb after the bee for 30+ minutes. The bootloader instructions tell you when to remove the sd card (I didn't power off first, just removed--have no idea if this has any impact but didn't even try the power off).

Went through almost every mod config available with same results. So went back to online research. This site and HCH at this link: http://techknow.freeforums.org That is where had I found my bootloader and also the information that helped me to resolve my issues.

Learned--ALOT about moding

First, the micro card you use for bootloading is important--refomating, speed, and maybe even size of the card.
2nd, I now believe have a "newer" VIA MW8650 mid which seems a bit more of a challenge to mod. New and different tablets out of china every minute it seems.
3rd, it can take up to at least 15 minutes for the honeycomb to initally load. So, after each try you HAVE to wait at least 15 minutes (30?) powered before trying another config. For some, I read it only takes a couple of minutes.
4th, wow does it take patience, resolve and time for me to mod my tablet.
And, lastly these processors runing andoid frodo 2.2 (even the cheap ones) can be really robust when it comes to repairing a brick. (That said, it is not a guarantee)

Finally after about two days, feeling a really sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach last night. I was just about ready to give up.

THEN, I went from a brick to a better functioning tablet that fast. After about a 25 minute bootload and startup with Universal Uberoid WM8650 1.5.5 HoneyCombMOD v10.1 ubertweaked using rom changer config #26. (Found couple of other remarks that #30 may work). I got a home screen. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I'm still playing with the new mod, but so far so good. Stable with touch and wireless working fine. Hope this all helps more that confuses. Only my results. I know we all do this at our own peril. But, it is neat to be sucessful. Please do dilligent research before starting, not after like I did.

Thanks so very much to everyone on this site as well as HcHz TechKnow site (the above link). You folks are all simply amazing. :clapping:
Best Regards.

Gonna agree with an attempt using Uberoid (Can't hurt it anymore if it's truly bricked) Even if you don't choose the right the right configuration, you can run the changer.bat and try another.

True :)

I've still not managed to get round to sitting a full night and testing, but you guys have given me hope that maybe........ Just maybe i can bring this back to life.
The comment in regards to the LCD drivers is there such a thing, because it would make a hell of a lot of sense to me.

I'll get back to youse all in a week and let youse know my outcome.

Thanks to everyone who commented. :)

I am having a similar problem with my tablet. A friend got it from overseas. the only thing they gave me was the booklet and the 7 inch tablet. The only identifying bit the booklet has is MID and the tablet itself has a sticker with the number M708.I did not get a chance to write down the kernel and other specs for it but I do remember seeing that it had Android 20.0 for the firmware. I am assuming that is 2.0? I have a red light when it is plugged in and the device has been charged for several hours. I think i may have tried to change/update the firmware when i first got it last summer but not sure exactly what it was now. At first it would start up but would not get past loading after the green android robot went away. someone said to try this.... http://uploading.com...49/firmware.rar ...someone thought it might be a via8505?.during the course of trying this I had a rolling black screen that looked like it had rainbow flecks. now it wont even turn on anymore. It still was the red light when plugged in nothing when unplugged. tried looking for other possible links to correct firmware but i just dont know what type of tablet this really is other than the number given.

Like most owners of the Chinese version of that android I have the same problem. But my biggest problem is that I simply cant register to get into that tech site. I dont know what bull they give me. Maybe its only for computer experts. There is no help file. There is no moderator like all other sites. Can you help as I would like to know if my bricked Black WM8650 is fit for the trash can. I would be happy if you could help me in just getting registered into the tech site. Apparently all the info I need is in here. Thanks in advance

this thread prompted me to take another look at mine again, it was D.E.A.D no leds when you pressed power and no response on screen, i was about to send it back for repairs or keep it for parts, i havent been able to use it for months because it was dead. so i took it apart, i tried to charge and power on but nothing, in the past ive pressed the reset button in all kinds of different ways, but when you take it apart it looks as though the reset is slightly off from the hole, so i put it on to charge, red led came on tried to power on after about 30 seconds charge and nothing so i pressed the reset (as i could actually see the reset button, i knew it was being pressed properly) for about 10 seconds. BOOm green led came on and its back to life again. modroid loads.

im putting linux on an micro sdcard asap

im so relieved its back they would have laughed if i had sent it over for reapirs and all they had to do was hit reset switch.

my advice is if its not working try reset switch for 10 seconds, if still no good try letting it sit for a week, then reset switch, then if your not willing to send it back to china for repairs try taking it apart wiggle the battery plug etc and reset with visual confimation for 10 seconds while charging.

seems the buttons might be slightly off or something on mine sometimes it takes a few times to get it going again pressing power button.
