I received my Novo 7 yesterday, updated the firmware, enabled debug mode and hooked it up. however the batch of MrTasselhof rootscript does not recognize the device. When I enabled debug mode a driver started installing on win 7. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you in advance.

UPDATE
I found this reply from tasselhof's in his youtube comments regarding this issue. Just posting it in case it might be helpful for others. Seems like the instruction below solved it for some users. Will verify this when I get home.

you will need to make sure the device is found by your system. Right click on My Computer --> Manage Device. If you see a yellow exclamation mark beside a "device", then most likely you need to install/point it to the drivers. If you see MID tablet with no exclamation you should be ok.. I did notice that for the Ainol I HAD TO USE THEIR USB CABLE, as it wasn't detected properly with a generic one I had. Hope that helps!

Hello and thanks for the script advice on rooting my new ainol novo7 advanced tablet so that it is recognized on android market. had a few issues running initially(ie my version of linux os doesnt run batch files), like device not found, but got pc to search for correct 32 bit drivers for vista to recognize, then script ran with proper connection and now works fairly well. took a while but finally got there, woohoo!!!

Hello All,

In this post is a relatively basic .BAT script.

Thank you very much Tasselhof.

Your root process works perfectly.
Now I have an extra problem. In the market, when I'm looking for an aplication, many times appears the message "this aplication is not compatible with your device" even when I consult an aplication that I have already installed and it works perfectly. Do you know how can I solve this problem, please?

Thank you in advance.

when i rooted the tablet it deleted the market and evry thing the only thing that installed was the box thing and root checker when i checked to see if it rooted the checker said it didnt came you help me?

the market is not deleted, just make a new shortcurt or even, instal the Vending.apk included in the Tasselhof-RootScript folder.
in the root checker choose "advance" and check again.
you also can install manually stericson.busybox.apk & Superuser.apk and repeat the above step.

sorry
bit of a noob,
can some one tell me the advantages of rooting my tab other than changing the dpi and enabling the migration of 'all?' apps to the storage partition.

Root is needed to make, for example, buckups, and many other applications require you to be root.

Mr Tasselhof, newbie here. I've read this entire thread several times looking for an answer, and have not found it.

I have the Novo 7 BASIC. I read that this script works for the Advanced, and know that there are different CPUs in Basic and Advanced units.

My question: Does this Script work on the Novo 7 Basic?

If not, does anyone have a link to a methiod to root the Basic?

Thanks for your help.

George

Thanks MrTasselhof! Just to let you know that I could root my Novo 7 Elf running Android 4.01 with your scripts. It was really helpful! I have not upgraded my Tablet to Android 4.03 yet because I want to be sure I can roll back to 4.01 in case 4.03 is not yet stable.

If and when I do decide to upgrade to 4.03, I would hope your scripts for rooting will work.

Downloaded the rootscript file thanks for that ;-)

Just a question, when you say "run" you mean using command prompt from my PC (tablet is already shown there) other quicky for you, when i try to update firmware or custom roms, (using the manual method pressing home and power buttons etc etc) i get a signature verification failed message? tablet is rooted using superoneclick so dont think thats the issue?

Been driving me crazy!!! i have looked at resigning the zip file with no success, there must be a simple way to update the firmware and install roms on this device, i think many others have done it already, and i'm stuck on 2.3.1 (tried Rom Manager but this device not listed so clockworkmod cant be used?

Any info will be really usefull ;-)

Hi,

Just rooted a novo 7 advanced and it went ok except, the touch screen is now vertically opposite to the display.

I.E.To press an icon at the top left of the screen i have to touch the opposing point on the bottom left of the screen.

I have just about got my head round the orientation so i can use the tablet, but cant find an option in set up to change this.

Any Ideas.

Thanks in advance.
