any idea?

Thank you for everything that you have done to persuade your boss to release the source code, that we all have been waiting for.

sorry atp, what do you mean by complie tool in ftp? ftp as in File Transfer Protocol? if so, I don't quite understand what that would do with anything?

I am really interested in playing with this..

I think he means that the compile tool can be found in the directory, where he put the entire code. So you should edit makefiles to suit your board and run them. Then you will get and compliled kernel image.

Very cool. I have come back here after about half a year of inactivity - and on the same day (just hours ago) you've released the source code.
Now should I put my new iphone 4 into the trash ? ;)

Has anyone looked at the code yet? Is this Android 2.1 or 2.2? Does it include the kernel plus drivers and all the customizations of the system preferences app?

Christian

Nice to see you back christian!! your mods to the first roms where like haven, can't immagin what you can do now.. :) I am anything but dev, anyway I think it is 2.2 since all the latest releases were 2.2..
ZT-180v1(256Mb/2Gb):

-HW: ruby 1.4/576 screen
-ROM: 0603

MODS to do:

-GPS stick to buy and maybe put the GPS + 3G stick inside with a HUB ( soldered where the wifi stick is)

P.S. I'm still waiting for the GPS since I haven't still understood if Zenithink wants to support it or not in official ROM :)

ZT-280/E98

If you need a DROPBOX account (you know you do XD) pleas use this link ;)

I took a look inside, and it is a 2.6 linux kernel with defconfigs for ALL zenithink boards. So you can compile almost any kernel for the devices, with any module you like :D

source code is release at https://github.com/atpboy444/ZT-180. And the compile tools is at ftp://zenithink.com/dyliao/.
All board version is include and you can edit

1 /etc/bash.bashrc
Add export PATH=$PATH:/<gcc toolchain_xxx>/bin to last line
2 edit <kernel>/maketest.sh to your board version and run it.

Good luck

Christian Buchner:
Old friend, nice to see you again. It's the kernel of zt-180.And android source doesn't open temporarily. If the app you need I think i can supply it.

Nice! Let the mods begin :) Anyone done a compile yet? Can we make the zimage as we would a normal android kernel (using a config.gz), then convert/import to zt-180s zimage format? Possible to combine usb/adb mode to a single kernel so that we can use the other boot option to run linux without having to give up usb or adb mode? Any branches been started? Anyone working on bluetooth modules? Argghhhh - a little overexcited here - guess I should go have a look at github!

How about someone starts a branch that devs can work on seperate areas of developement with?

@karl0ss did you get anywhere with boot partitions or ability to setup custom partition sizes?

For me, the most important thing it to sort out proper Clockwork recovery..

EDIT - none of this really makes sense to me, I been looking around on web on how to compile android from source, but I can't seem to work out how to relate it to what we have here...

does anyone actually know what to do with what we have here, and could maybe post a little guide?

it can't be as simple as

1 /etc/bash.bashrc
Add export PATH=$PATH:/<gcc toolchain_xxx>/bin to last line
2 edit <kernel>/maketest.sh to your board version and run it.

I assume that Add export PATH=$PATH:/<gcc toolchain_xxx>/bin to last line relates to the path of the tool chain?

Hope for some help.

Karl

This is not for compile Android. What you create with this source is the kernel.
