no usb to usb best thing to do is get 1 to tim for the tweeks, i can tell you this they are very very good tablets, high speakers without the tweeks, touch screen is very very responsive, wifi sit in the garden not next to the router,to do a firmware update if crashed etc, its not menu and start, its minus volume and start, used 1 hitting wifi etc 4 hours of life, fast charge because there 9v and also while using with wifi and charger is in they actually charge up instead of getting no where like the old 5v charging system, and where the charger goes into the tablet they fit firm instead of wiggling about?so imagine tim tim doing is stuff on these they will be very serious competion for the ipad
they have a couple of minor problems dont know if its china dont have youtube so they can't test it but believe it or not it turns the wifi router off, only on youtube everything else plays fine
needs tweeks for more 3g dongles,if tim tweeks speakers wow they will be loud, got gps working in 5 mins on uk maps from co-pilot with-in 10 mins, but for some unkown reason 30 tablets i have tried them all they would not find the navigation sats again don't know if someone shot them out of space or what, opened 1 up battery pack 3,800 x 2,a completely different motherboard from the disco model
theres no more vibrate on start-up or turn-off just instant start

So you say these P041 models are better 'out-of-box' than the DISCO models plus they can be flashed (i've read in other forum the P041 can't be flashed)?
I wrote above i'm waiting mine and now i don't know what i'll get.

yes you can flash i have the firmware on a SD-CARD if you want the link to new firmware it for the 8gb/16gb model i got worried myself when i heard about NO FLASH,but realised thats from 1 seller who's renamed is superpads in a new box saying everyone else are fakes and as people joinging other websites to promote is products?,saying is are from the USA and designed there? ive sold over 700 discos from the very 1st 1 out,i had to wait 2 weeks for this new model in 16GB
when it came i was very im-pressed no tweeks for sound,g-sensor playing correct way, wifi running in the garden with still 2 bar strenghs about 50 to 60 feet from router, and the screen a very light finger touch to respond,Tim needs is magic touch though on these as they come basic still from manufacture, and they are minor problems like the Disco was before Tim hit the scene but yes i am happy not like i was when disco hit the scene with so many problems, the amount of them with no g-sensor,no proper wifi,no proper sound was and is still a nitemare

good news, i hope tim (or others) will make CFW for these devices too. I'll back when i get mine.

I've got my Ibex FT3 (silver back) from pricedinchina. It's a disco10 model. It seems like the 'Ibex' keeps the disco model in the Flytouch line and the Facepad got the new P041 thing.

Ray,
I have the new P041 Facepad from ChinaGrabber. I recieved it last Thursday, July 21. It does seem to work quite well. The only issue I see is when playing Netflix, the colors are wrong.
How do you upgrade the firmware on these? I previously saw to hold the power button and Vol - buttons while booting?
Thanks

Hi
yes once you have downloaded open folder extract 5 files to sd-card once done come out of sd-card then go back again and make sure they you change folder name to android and that is the only folder with the 5 files
once you have done that into tablet while off hold - volume and switch on it'll update?this firmware i think you will have already have this firmware as the po41 as just started coming off the production lines it's there latest 1 just been put on tablets?
on the issues i agree they have got them, thats why we now need Tim & co to get working on these also, were not quite back to square 1 like when the disco's etc 1st came out but we do need a few tweeks there and there here's the link http://hotfile.com/d...0719-2.zip.html

It's finally showed up, and it is a 4gig model - but also a P041. Is that still a possibility or that indicative of a fake?
I'm really disappointed to not be able to throw a CFW on there right away, but I have my fingers crossed to see one soon.

Hi
i know its disappointing,i know they were updating the flytouch superpad, but it had been said for a few months now, ordered my shipment of Disco's got a message back they had finally changed the motherboard, and they were running down the last of the disco models, there's still a few about selling them who have stock, there not fake mate iv'e bought from the same supplier 18 months and put big orders in,and only had a couple of returns from those who thought they were as easy as a windows system,or as fast as a ipad, look at it this way if you had bought a disco model 6 months ago they were a pile of problems with them, the Tim roms etc have sorted most out but there's a lot that can-not be,these have issues also, but when the factory firmware gets tweeked and tim and co get there heads together these will be a far better machine than Disco model, there's too many recieving them from suppliers to be fakes, and also all the fake messages are being removed about them?there's just a seller out there that says there fakes but is models are original and of course thats so he can sell his

Build quality is higher than I was expecting after reading about how frequently SuperPad / Flytouch clones are shipped from various places, and the responsiveness and performance on the unit is more than adequate (especially compared to the rooted Pandigital Novel I was using previously).
But I'm fine making do with some Angry Birds and PCV for the time being, until someone starts in on CFW's for these newer units.

Thanks Ray.. I've been able to download the firmware. I'm trying to compare my current firmware version with the downloaded one. Is there a way to tell if the downloaded one is newer than what I currently have? What does your device info list after updating to the downloaded version?
Thanks for all your help, your the only one out here that has this information so far!!

Steve, sorry, I can't help you with your question as I don't have a P041 model. I would be interested in knowing if you would post your proof of purchase as you offered to do on apad before the thread was deleted....

Mine came from an Alibaba store called "Vovin Technology." I'm not sure if I'd go that way again next time. I'm trying out Merimobiles for a different unit (an M816R2) and I'll be interested to see how that goes.
An interesting thing about my P041 is that it has a black back instead of silver. Looks like a big iPhone with the silver band around the edge. It also doesn't have the "hump" for the RJ45 connector. Instead, it's flat in that area. Of the P041's you may have, do they have this same case? This may be an easy way to ID them in product photos.
I bought mine as an 8GB model. It has a single TF slot and I'm guessing that the other memory is just inside. I'm having a few weird issues, but the main one is that it won't write to my SD card, or the internal one. I've been poking at it, but I can't get it to go. The easiest way to see the problem is to start the camera. It will complain if it can't see the card.
Let me know if you find a fix for this.
I'm hopeful that we just have the first of the P041's and that when more of them land it will see more development. Who knows, maybe it will turn out that these are really good ones once the bugs are worked out.
Cheers!
Desmond Crisis.
