My brand new 4 day old MID816R2 is not working after only 2-4 hours of usage one day and unit shut off on me with low battery warning.
On the right corner the battery was showing 75%.

Went to charge unit for over 6 hours and tried turning on but got gray screen for a few seconds and then screen turns off and nothing.
Did this over and over again. I replugged unit back on charger and let it charge overnight and tried again today and same thing gray screen and nothing.
Battery light is green.

Anyone got any suggestions? Should I redo the stock image on internal sd card?

Thanks,
David

Definitely retry the stock image.

Not sure about the whole power issue though.

Well the last couple days I've been trying to put stock image and other images but still can't get it to boot pass the gray screen.
I had a chat with the customer support "Helen" at mcbub that I purchased the unit and they were not help.
I even sent 2 videos I took of the problem that I posted on youtube and all they could do was suggest that I update the firmware.
They sent me a link to the firmware but it was no use cause I can't even boot up into the service menu. All I get is the gray screen and it shuts off after a few seconds.
I've been trying to get ahold of Helen from mcbub's customer service but I mysteriously get disconnected all the time when I'm on chat with them. Sometimes I can't even connect.
Makes me really piss and I'm starting to think they are trying to avoid me!

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do? I'm seriously thinking of contacting paypal and getting a dispute started with mcbub on my purchase.

well it looks like a grey screen usually means a screen failure, or a failure of a certain IC component that is soldered on the motherboard
