Before asking questions in the fourms about Flashing (Upgrading) Rom's (Firmware) or why all or part of your ZT-180 does not work after Flashing (Upgrading) your Rom (Firmware) Please try to find out as much of the information below as you can or feel comfortable doing. Also read the wiki LINK ( http://www.slatedroi...Wiki:ZT-180_FAQ ) you will be surprised at how much information you will find there and how many of your questions will be answered

Model from the sticker on your ZT-180
Serial Number from the sticker on your ZT-180
Ram 256mb or 512mb use Android System Info Android Market Link ( https://market.andro...e=search_result ) Direct Download Link (http://www.4shared.c...Info_v1171.html )
Flash Memory (Internal Storage) Size Version 1 2gb = nand Version 2 2gb and 4gb = inand use Android System Info (See links above)
Note: it will not say 2gb or 4gb just tell us what it does say
Note: The reason we want you to check ram and internal storage size is that not all buyers got what they thought they were buying.
If you do not already have Android Market working as yet you can use the direct download link above to download the file to your pc and then place it on your sdcard and use file manager to install it.
Does your ZT-180 Have a HDMI output port?
Does your ZT-180 Have a Built in Camera?
Android Version from settings/ about device (or from Android System Info)
Kernal Version from settings/ about device (or from Android System Info)
Build Number from settings/ about device (or from Android System Info)
Mother Board (PC Board or PCB) Color and Version Number Ruby V1.4, Jade V2.3, Cameo V?? etc. This link will help you open the ZT-180 case Link ( http://www.slatedroi...tion-or-repair/ )
WARRNING: REMOVE SDCARD BEFORE OPENING CASE if you do not remove the sdcard you could break it in half. I know because i forgot and guess what sdcards are all shinny inside.
Note: if you do not feel comfortable opening your tablet we will try to work around this information but it really really does help if you have this information.
Any Rom's (Firmware) you have Flashed or tried to flash onto your ZT-180 and where they came from (links to the site you downloaded from would be good)
ZT-UPDATE Folder contents a detailed list of the files in this folder and where they came from (links to the site you downloaded from would be good)

Always remember we are not mind readers and we can not work magic or see your ZT-180 through our crystal ball, we are users just like you that have had some of the same problems as you are having and through the help of others in this and other fourms have over come them and just wish to help others enjoy there ZT-180.
Also please do not post your questions here please post them in there respective fourms with as much information as you can get about the device and the problem.

Bad Example:
I flashed a rom and now my wifi will not work (This is not good and it will not get you much help at least right away because we will end up asking you most of the questions above and taking up a lot of your time and ours as it sometimes takes hours or even days to get a response to a post.

Good Example:
I have a ZT-180 V2 with a green version 2.3 Jade pcb with 404gb ram and 439mb internal storage (i got this info from Android System Info) and i flashed rome 0603 from the ftp site and here is what files i put in the zt-update folder and the folders i got them from ......nice list of files....... and i can not get the wifi to work right please help...

Also reading is your friend when doing something like this so please read the wiki Link ( http://www.slatedroi...Wiki:ZT-180_FAQ ) and read through the forums because there maybe already and answer to your question waiting there for you which may save you time in the long run because as i said above it sometimes takes hours or even days for someone to respond to your post, again we are just users like you who have jobs and have to sleep sometimes we are not Tech support for Zenithink although some of the members here are Tech's from Zenithink and other members talk with them on a regular basis, so even some of what seem to be the hardest problems just might get solved with the righ information for you.

Last but not least if your problem does get solved please feel free to tell everyone about it in as much detail as you can maybe it will help someone else. Thank you for taking time to read this and i hope in some way it helps you find the answer to your problem.

Thanks i just hooe it helps a little. I was kind of tired of typlng the same questions over and over. Now we can just sat read this and get back to me any if anybody sees anything that needs adding or that is wrong let me know and i will fix it... thanks again

I Dont know where to post this, and I seem to be having trouble finding the information I'm looking for.

Heres my ZT180 specs:

No Flash Roms - Stock, out of box

I'm looking to flash this to the latest, most stable version of Android out there. I have ZERO experience in rooting, but understand this tablet could work better then out of the box.

Also will the tablet work if I remove the battery, using only the adapter plug? It gets hot, and I worry it might burn out. The logic behind this is its going to be used in a public space, and I worry about it walking off. I plan on having 2 or 3 of these available for replace a printed books for my work.

Very nice list of info and it looks like 512 ram so you have a V2 but what color is the PCB and i will try to head you to the right forum and firmware....also yes it will work with out the battery but with a few tweaks we may get that over heating problem under control and get it rooted (it is very easy)....but first the pcb color so we can be sure what you have a 2gb or 4gb

Actually, there are 2GB inand drives in v2's also......

The PCB color comes into play figuring out if you have a G0 or G2, both have 512MB RAM, but the blue one is a G0 and the green one is a G2 (the G1 only has 256MB RAM)....

The PCB color is green, both pieces. From what my emails by the vendor have told me, it is 2GB.

Then I guess you have a G2 board (I'm guessing without hdmi or camera?)....

Thanks om....also about your temp problem this might help Link (http://www.ibeau.net...nithink-zt-180/ ) and it will show you how to root the 180 as well just do not install superuser (there is a pull down menu in androot where you can flag it not to install. do this after you install the new rom (firmware) you will find universal androot 1.6.1 here Link ( http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=747598 ) only use 1.6.1 others don't seem to work right and sometimes it takes more than one try to get it rooted

Hi people. I have a very specific situation with my device.
A few words about brick:
All i know is the stik says: model ZT180102ASRTA0425S6G
PSB is green and have a "JADE_VER2.3" on it.
After a few workouts, my device starts to halt. A few reboots caused the boot to fail at all. Then i've tried to burn a few firmare's (with similiar model descriptions)from Zenithink home page. All i can get now is the boot start with anroid icon above, and "adroid _" sign after it (pad is blinking). A friend of mine helped and installed a windows embedded ce v6.0, and it's working fine, exept those fact it has no needed language support and software. Windows showed 512 Mb RAM and 4Gb memory avaliable for usage. I've also tried the trick with empty files to figure out the firmware version, it says i have a G2 version. Please can someone help me to get the right firmware?

All i wanted to know, what firmware to use. I've been reading the topics, and as a result, the more i read the more questions i had aboud device.
What means G2, V2, if my PCB is Jade_V2.3? What means H0 boards and what's mine letter than? What if one of firmwares i've installed formatted my inand to other file system, and how to bring it back? May be, as i get it, the firmware itselt should be customed somehow - what files to use? I don't know. It's to many questions man.
Maybe my device is not a Zenithink at all...how to figure it out? If its nesessary, i can post up a detailed photos of the PCB here(very similiar PCB is here http://www.slatedroi...v2Internals.JPG). By the way, my PCB has no HDMI, WinCE says i have a cortex A8 ARM CPU. PCB chip mark is Zenithink Zt-180a, (and below P3B782.00S-2, 1037). Does that means anything?
The most simple way i see, is if you have the same board as mine, you could share the full firmware set. That will be the most quikest way.
If it's impossible to share the full set of firmware of yours, i'll continue to try to combine firmware set by myself, but i guess it woun't help...anyway, i'll be waiting for any precious advise. Thanks.

Ssonic from what we are reading you have a ZT-180 V2 512 Ram 2gb flash memory download the rom (firmware) from Here Link( http://www.zenithink...ownews_199.html ) and unzip the file you download put it in a folder called zt-update on your sdcard and flash it that is the latest official Firmware and it is all in one package as you ask for the server is kind of slow but give it time. Try that and let us know how it works. Hope that helps

Actually, he said he had a 4GB internal storage, but the latest for 10" 512MB RAM/4GB V2 tablet from the Zenithink download page is the 0503 (the 0613 on the site is only for people who have a F suffix at the end of their model # - which i believe is meant for boards with the IC reset already removed)......

According to the model number, he had the 0425 ROM installed on it......

Zenithink has many different board types, and each board type have different variations..... V1 (Ruby/Bx) and V2 (Jade/Gx) are board types. V1's are the original 10" 256MB RAM/2GB internal nand storage tablets. V2's are the 10" & 7" tablets which come in different variations, some have HDMI out and Camera, some don't, some have 512MB RAM some have 256 MB RAM, some have 4GB internal inand storage and some have 2GB internal inand storage.......

I still think he should read around the v2 forum and read the thread I posted earlier about flashing the latest V2 ROM....

No, not an SDcard. Inand memory 4Gb, or may be WinCE is lying to me. Thats what i'm trying to say. I've met the situation, my board doesn't match any of above description. None of recomended firmware helped. "A N D R O I D _" thast all that i have at startup. Installed a G2 dual boot spl loader...tried different kernels, no luck. I guess no way to ressurect it, exept WinCE.

i beleive i have version 1 of the tablet and not version 2....im not sure ...hopefully someone can tell me

i was wondering how to root/custom rom it/overclock it....... basically anything thats better than the stock 2.1 thats on the tablet now...
