For to do a recovery flash, you'll need to root your tablet first and after that it shouldn't be a problem to use Rom Manager.

Thanks Mr. Imp.
Device has been rooted. Some apps allowed superuser. Problem is with the defined paths of the existing internal SD (the only memory I have since no expansion slot.
Root directories do show up using esfile for example. The ROM Manager wants to write directly to /SDcard but path is not found. ROM Manager has superuser allowed and busybox is installed.
I can use ESfile to copy files back and forth, but other apps don't seem to have access, even with Supoeruser allowed.
Thanks.

Here's a newby to the forum, first time posting here.
I have just acquired an HT_Pad_1051_U1GuCoTijV2.4RC4-eng 2.3.3 GRI40 eng.tianfeng.20111019.122233 / Kernel Version 2.6.35.3-g6e1e1bd-dirty
I need simple instructions on how to get it rooted since Z4root nor Gingerbreak work. Would like to know which Clockworkmod Recovery to use and also it seems the Bootloader locked because none of the four buttons will trigger menu selection, however the buttons do work after normal startup.
Thanx in Advance,
Jonnybb1, Sunny San Diego!

I would suggest to first update to the firmware from 20110426 using the advice given in this forum (please read all related post's very carefully) and after that update to the Singularity v5 firmware. That should solves your problem.

February 11. Being curious I of course wanted to upgrade it. The journey to do so wasn't strainght forward as each machine
and user have their own path. My journey involved lots of deadends despite reading hundreds of comments on this and other
sites.
I have compiled this brief guide so that if your in my situation you can avoid the problems I had. I wiould like to say that
I found many of the comments on this and other forums extremely useful but by their nature many deal with specific aspects of
the process rather than the whole. Whilst this is at your own risk this process worked for me.
1. Firstly either backup your firmware using suitable software (this is the preferred option - I didn't do this and it wasted
many hours) or download the original M10_05232011_Firmware from here (http://download.express-files.com/?
q=m10+05232011+firmware+zip&wmid=888&subwmid=41) and keep it safe. This step is just in case something goes wrong, you'll
have a fallback.
2. Download the android 2.3 firmware here (http://www.pandawill...Gpad-Gforce-is-
out!)
3. Copy the update folder to your external micro sd card
4. Then save an empty text file using notepad or similar to the same micro sd card and call it update.txt
5. Turn off your HT Pad1051
6. Put it into recovery mode by pressing your power and down volume buttons for 3-4 seconds
7. Choose the update from sd card option and wait a few minutes whilst the update takes place. Some posters recommended
restoring to factory settings at this point, I didn't need to.
8. Choose re-boot. Everything should work except the wifi, however there is a simple fix. Simply rename the
/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf to /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.bak (rather than delete it) reboot and all is well
(Thanks tjrq).
9. The only other minor issue I have had is that when the Pad is brought out of deep sleep it forgets the time and you need
to update the time before you can use the net or market place. A small inconvenience for the major improvements brought by
2.3 especially on the graphics front - I'm sure that a solution to this exists or will do shortly but I'm too busy enjoying
the andriod experience to worry.
10. Enjoy!

Hi I´m a Herotab m10v2 (Ipad 1051) begginer, and I like to know if someone had the same problem like me...
I follow the guide, but when the MfgTool is in the second part of the proccess (writing the OS) windows (XP)disconnects the tablet like if i unplug the usb and connect it again, and the proccess terminates improperly.
Tnxs for any info and the time you expend on the guide

I'm struggling here. I got one of these from china but the storage is only reported as 1.23GB.
I think I've excepted the fact that I've been ripped off but how can I figure out which firware upgrade to use?
Thanks,
Der
