I was told by a friend that the HTC Flyer plays DVD VIDEO, so I copied a DVD clip (.vob format) to my HTC Flyer, only to find the device not play it at all. Did I miss something? What should I do to add my DVD movies to HTC Flyer and watch them without hitch?

It does NOT support VOB file format, imagine the VOB file size is too big to play on Flyer, you didn't do the homework reading the specs.

Video supported formats:
  • Playback: .3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv (Windows Media Video 9), .avi (MP4 ASP and MP3), .xvid (MP4 ASP and MP3)
  • Recording: .3gp
You have to convert it first to the supported format. try Handbrake ..etc.

Good luck.

When a DVD is converted to H.264 mp4 it plays without a problem. And the movie is cut down to less than 1GB. I use DVD ripper offered by Pavtube studio. There’re formats for Android devices. This works for me. You can have a try.

So the HTC Flyer actually does not play DVD? And I need to convert the movie first? Does it take long to convert a DVD to h.264 mp4?

Why so less support for a powerful tablet?
GOT RID OF: Gepad e10 7"inch green led also known as shyle 7inch wonder media via 8650, the build " generic -eng.2 froyo ver1.5.3-20110819.112300. And the kernel is 2.6.32.9-default

Brand new Ainol Novo 7 Paladin black running 4.0.1 android os.

Also have non rooted 7inch wifi htc flyer running 3.2 android os, with sense etc.

And finally best comes to last.. the zenithink c71 7inch n version and running 1206 update from zenithink website
