Please read all information accompanying the roms such as ChangeLogs, Tips, etc. There just might be an answer to problems you may encounter.
When reporting problems, Please submit your stats so others can know what flavor of flytouch 3 you may have.
Also please post whatever fixes that worked for you so others may benefit.
Thank you.

Hybrid ROM (rooted)

In order to not make this page too full, most of the info and download links are located onto the rom's dedicated page:
http://public.timdur...roid/Flytouch3/
So please refer there :)

Tips
See there: http://public.timdur...ouch3/Tips.html
It should contains almost everything you need ;)

Please report also if the rom is working well for you, and not only if you have issues :)
that helps to know if the rom is heading in the right direction or not.

Flashing is as usual: see procedure there: http://www.apad.tv/a...-(Third-Release)
*To improve stability and avoid corruption on tablets with unstable battery, make sure to flash and boot at least the first time while plugged in power*

How to report issues
See on the rom's dedicated page

Tim has updated the ROM and has now reached through versions 4a, 4b and presently is at version 4c. Version 4 is an great improvement over version 3. It now supports Flytouch 3 with 16 GB internal card.
Copied from http://www.apad.tv/a...id-ROM-(rooted) :

Here are the main changes that you should get with that rom:
- Speed increase
- increased sound volume
- fix for the wrong colors in browser & most apps (correct color for default browser, screen capture app...)
- Huawei 3G sticks support (Off by default, see tip below)
- Media scanning off by default (see tip below)
- ad-hoc wifi networks (see tip below)
- ads blocking
- Market 2.2.7 (see tip below)
- No need to remove your SD for installing apps
- internal SD card "local" free space is now at /mnt/sdcard and external SD1 is at /mnt/sdcard/sdcard1
- 16GB tablet compatibility
- Fix for 576 screen offset (see tip below)
- Full screen color flash for most video types and sites
(still eating a lot of cpu, so certain video types can be unstable, make sure you are not using other cpu eating apps at the same time to improve stability)
- tun.ko kernel module for VPN
- Launcher pro home screen
- updated framework & libs
- busybox 1.16.0
- Youtube 2.1.6 working great, fullscreen HQ (use opera mini or Maxthon web browsers for auto switching to the app in youtube)
- working GPS with google maps & co (see tip below)
- HDMI output (see tip below)
- Titanium backup
- ssh daemon (Droidsshd)
- Quickpic (fast gallery)
- Better Keyboard 8 (set as default, see tip below to deactivate or switch back to the old keyboard)
- Dalvik cache
- root access
- bash & a few other commands
- Misc tweaks and cleanups
- GScripts helpers:
o Clear Dalvik-cache & reboot
o Media scanning On-Off (Off by default, see tip below)
o SD speed patch On-Off (Off by default)
o Sysctl battery saving patch On-Off (Off by default, may slow down performance on certain tablets)
o Calendar & Contact sync On-Off (On by default)
o Dial contact, Dial number scripts
o cpu usage stats file save
o reboot, shutdown
o switch between wifi drivers
o ads blocking On-Off

thanks for the rom

I used 20110416-Tim3a_16GBFix.zip, it's really fast, but I can install any apps, it said the installation is unsuccessful, how to fix it? thanks

on your notes:

If you're getting installation unsuccessfull error -18 while installing a particular app:
- unmount / remove the SD card
- install the application again, it should work now.
- put back the SD card after the installation completes.

The problem: I tried to download apps from market, it shows the same error, is that usual?

Updated the first post with the latest ROM information.

I can confirm it works on the FlyTouch 3 from Merimobiles.com and is a GREAT improvement over the Stock Firmwares.
- Merimobiles is contacting the developer to request permission to pre-install the ROM on their devices.

I believe it will.
Just make sure to backup anything you want to save first.
I also highly suggest having a known working firmware update waiting in the wings as a "restore" option.

Interesting development!! and a good price!
Several things to check on....

2x tf slots would mean it is not a FT3, unless they are referring to one internal and one external tf slots! Unfortunately there is not a clear photo of the right hand side!!!

1 x USB slot

NAND flash means it is a SAWEE model, not DISCO

Tims firmware support HUAWAI 3G modems only, and I cannot see if the advert states which 3G modem it has installed.

So my guess would be ...no....not yet!

I've just ordered a 16GB FlyTouch 3 from Merimobiles. I asked them what firmware would be installed on it and they said 0602. Will your new ROM work on that version?

Thanks!
