if there is no driver in the kernel, any hardware cannot just plug and play, it should be supported first.

unless you have the skill to re-build the kernel to include the driver, there is nothing you can do (sorry)

Just follow us at cifs.ko thread here

If we can properly compile and build kernel module for cifs, there will be no more limits to us :)
as you can read in cifs.ko thread, i have success with slow-work.ko module.

if someone can help - wellcome

It would be a typo of 'AX88772', ASIX AX88772. I heard some tabs support the chip, but I have'nt any source C8 work with it, except your post. I'm also interested in Ethernet connection 'cause I've tired re-possitioning poor wifi antenna :(

The adapter i got from dealextreme came with a small CD with drivers, some of which were for Android specifically, including .ko modules. Haven't tried it yet though.

Just search on google with "AX88772" if you are professional enough to search products,,no need to type the whole name ASIX AX88772
I been using the tablet with this chipset usb lan for a while.

Thx cpl999! Finally, i found the description that 0322 version of FW supporting ax88772 in the Haipad official site. It means that USB LAN adapter for Nintendo Wii might be compatible with the pad. I'll try it or some other compatibles if I find inexpensive used one :p

Can you share with us more information? what is exact model of your working dongle?
maybe this one? http://www.amazon.co...0/dp/B00007IFED

What "dmesg" says when you insert it?
I have tried this module: http://www.dealextre...ter-dongle-2797

Plain Linux kernel (ubuntu) detects it as :
[353780.113546] dm9601 7-2:1.0: eth1: register 'dm9601' at usb-0000:00:1d.1-2, Davicom DM9601 USB Ethernet, 00:08:13:00:06:50
[353780.113773] usbcore: registered new interface driver dm9601

so, it is not ASIX AX88772 chip inside.
I compiled module for our tablet's kernel, module dm9601.ko loads ok, tablet detects it as eth0,
But command "ifconfig eth0 up" reboots tablet.

So, what chip has your working dongle?

i never ( yet ) inserted the dongle "after" boot up, only when turned 'off'. i was being cautious for the tablet. so there are no "dmesg" ( yet ) to examine.
