Hello folks,

I have an android tablet, 7" (green light, no vib, black audio port, 30 pin connector, WMT2.0_88, no box) and I've been spending quite a while on the last 1,5 months looking for roms.
After trying some roms, I got fed up and I did the only thing imaginable: open it. As I am an engineer, I used some caution when opening, but after a few snap sounds (only after opening I learned that I snapped the plastic around the screws that join the board to the case), I got it open. No info, just a WM8505 CPU and a few hynix chips on it. So I
saw a label that showed "ED0010011656". Googled it and got nowhere. So I removed the main board from the rest and nothing on the other side. Last resource: peeled the label. Under it was a WMS8088B written on the board, and on the CPU board, there is a WMS8060B2. So I guess this is an EPAD (googled it), uh? There are some pics attached.
So I've tried so far:
- Flytouch.1.9.99.v4c.256MB-HcH.7z: hang up at droid spinning
- PanImage: hang up at droid spinning
- EPAD256.1.988.3k.7z: hang up at droid spinning

- WMT2.1.2_105_M3CSL_V1.0_script.7z - udisk error
- Slatedroid1.2_EPad_WIP.zip - umount problem
- script.rar - hang up at starting logo (rom specific for EPAD)
- EPAD128.1.988.3k_EX900.rar - hangs up during install (right before installing logo)
- Slatedroid1.3_1.7.4_base_.zip - bricked my tablet for good

So, as it can be seen, no success at all. All I got is a damn brick (I'm discharging the battery - tried before and it is still hanged up). Is there anything else I can try - further roms, connect to computer (if so, how), etc.? Pleeease help. This is driving me crazy...

This one is a gift from my father. He thought it was slow, and gave it to me. So there is no way to find out more info about it. But if your tablet is still working, do you think you can make a copy of the rom and try send it to me? Pleez?

apeine, thanks for comprehensive bad f/w list, mate.

I actually own this tablet too (bought used one, had a kind of 1.6 "1.7.4" android on it - did you had the same?).
It's definitely neither apad non epad.. guess it's DealExtreme sku.44080 (now think that Maylong 150 is another chinese clone of same device).

What it runs:
- Debian (off SD). hacking with it
- WinCE (Sylvania's firmware, if I recall right - anyway, no touchscreen , but works with USB kdb/mice )

Suppose that firmware bricks internal flash partitioning, or installs wrong w-load / u-boot version, need to check combinations too..

you can look for HoneyBee v1.1 - HoneyBee 2011 by b33zudroid.rar
it can install itself to USB flash (unfortunately I had only 1Gb old flash, and it was not enough - get 2-4Gb new one and try)

Hi, mine is a "MID", assuming a M001. Looks like the one in the picture, but it says "WMS8105C" on the board. Need a working firmware image. The present one just shows that spinning android and hangs afterwards.

Sorry for my english has anybody rom for tablet like below ? I tested over 50 roms and it still dont work. Android stops on logo or progress bar or i have "proces system is not responding". I try to repair it a lot of months. Please help. Thx

First, you must know that at least 2 different MID (MID clone) models with label "WMS8105C" on the motherboard exists. I know which is working Android ROM for model VSuccess WMS8105C.

This model vibrate on Start, have red LED in power charge state and Green Led when is on, special connector for USB and Network, and it has camera and Power, Menu, Vol+ Vol- buttons. It can be opened from above, in corners it have 4 hidden screws (behind self-adhesive black foil around touch screen).It have black back cover, balck buttons, MID label on original carton box and following parts inside:
WonderMedia WM8505+ ARM-based CPU
Important-this model HAVE 2GB Samsung K9GAG08U0E-SCB0 NAND flash Memory, but controlled with Chipsbank CBM2093 USB 2.0 Flash Disk Controller, equivalent to USB Flash memory (many ROM's reports-no NAND or unknown NAND type)
Hynix HY5PS1G831C-FP-S6, 128MB DDR SDRAM modules x2 (total 256MB)

Working Android ROM's are from Tipstir - MT2.1.2_M SERIES + TWEAKED (50% Rooted) + MARKET (3 VERSIONS) and

Also, I get Windows CE 6 to work (but without audio driver and touch screen for now (work with USB mouse and USB keyboard) and with no precise battery state with this ROM. Maybe I will find drivers for touchpad and audio and improved battery status application. Above ROM's (Tipstir and Win CE) have different formatting (boot sector and place for installation memory) procedure because this model have NAND Flash memory behind Chipsbank CBM2093 (SO EVERY ROM GET CONCLUSION THAT THIS TABLET HAVE USB FLASH MEMORY, and haven't NAND for OS installation) than the most others Android ROM's for WM8505 ARM-based CPU tablets, so be careful with other ROM's.
When flashing ROMS to these sorts of tablets the ROM must be able to write to DEV\SDA or DEV\BLOCK\SDA or it will fail.
DO NOT USE "Slatedroid 174 base ROM" -it destroy boot data for Android on this device!!! I got error:
"Erase File-System Partition .......
-> Erase File-System Partition Fail! Exit!
Maybe the Kernel don't support this Nand Flash ")
and this ROM destroyed boot sector for Android (I even can not install Tipstir MT2.1.2_M SERIES).


How to recover Android after this formatting with Windows CE or with ROM "Slatedroid base ROM" or similiar which couse error Erase File-System Partition Fail! and after tha even can not flash with ROM WMT2.1.2_105_M3_V1.0_script.7z (stuck on screen with the name)? This is my solution:
1. Download WMT2.1.2_105_M3_V1.0_script.7z
2. Download VIA8505 WMT2.0_105.zip (only use scriptcmd from this ROM )
3. Prepare Micro SD card with SCRIPT from WMT2.1.2_105_M3_V1.0_script.7z and in SCRIPT folder replace original scriptcmd with scriptcmd from VIA8505 WMT2.0_105.zip ROM
4. Flash device with standard procedure (it will take more than 5 min).

Now you can flash any of compatibl ROM's from above list.


VSuccess WMS8105C (MID on original box) in market promotion material have tehnical data 256MB RAM, 2GB memory, 533MHz CPU, but I think that is overclocked, because high level of heating when working on original ROM. I've read reports of frequency ranging between 300MHz and 600MHz (WM8505+ ARM-based CPU), Windows CE 6.0 showing only 128MB RAM memory (becuse ROM is for 128MB RAM netbook originaly).

Your "WMS8105C" looks like this one http://www.techknow....hp?topic=1681.0
so check that forum and data about that model- compare your chips with picture on that forum.
