Do you notice any difference - faster, cleaner, anything better?

I just joined this forum so that I could thank Roger for his work on the custom ROM for the M009s. I bought one of these cheap little devices off ###### to dip my finger in the tablet waters and see whether I liked the form factor, as well as get a feel for Android. My major complaints were:

1) No market, and no gmail
2) Fairly poor touch screen
3) Fairly poor battery life
4) Generally fairly poor performance

I'm glad to say that Roger's new firmware (I'm using 1.1.6) opens up the app market and makes the tablet feel quite a lot more responsive. In particular, the virtual keyboard feels a lot snappier. The tablet is now quite functional, and I think I will get a fair bit of use out of it. Thanks very much Roger!

"The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later". Maybe its just too popular? :)

Great!
Have you tried the 1.3.0 build floating around? I used it the last couple of days (I added Market throwing the APKs to the "\FirmwareInstall\packages\fs_patch\root_patch\system\app" folder) and it seems to be working well. The only big difference I noticed is that now it's possible to enable a setting to move applications to SD card.

I think it is like this - I am also waiting for a delivery....:)

1) Format SD card to FAT32,
2) Copy both the folder and file contained in the zip to the SD Card,
3) Plug in power to tablet and turn the tablet on,
4) Remove SD card when told to – the tablet will restart,
5) If you want to use the SD card for storage delete the above 2 file/folder
