Google vs Amazon App Stores Moved from FW/Dev for obvious reasons

Now with the 'Amazon App Market' which seems to carry a large number of the major apps and 'SLIDE SAM 4.0' has many minor apps.
Is there a need to force the 'Google Apps' onto our device? As it seems my biggest headach is being caused by "Google Apps"

Do whatever you want. It's your PDN. If you're satisfied with Amazon's App Store with it's limited but decent selection and don't mind the perpetual wifi tether to their system to run your apps, whatev...

Once an app has been activated, you shouldn't have to have wireless access to use the apps from Amazon store. The "free paid app" every day is awesome. As uninstalling it removing access to your apps- big freakin' deal. it's small, doesn't take up any significant resources, and is easy to reinstall if you choose.
So I have the Amazon app store on all three of my Android devices (Using the same account, by the way.) When buying apps, I'll probably buy them on the Market, unless Amazon is cheaper. For free quality apps (Swiftkey, PicSay pro, etc.), it's worth the tradeoffs for me.

So, does this mean that there is something wrong with the Amazon Market install some (most?) of us are using, since it always seems to need the Amazon Market running and have WiFi enabled to start the app?
Does this mean the apps aren't registering as they should???

This has been my understanding that this has been the way it's supposed to work from day one, partially because they are angling for the tablet market.
To verify, I just now put my phone in airplane mode after rebooting (kills wireless and 3g), and the five apps I launched worked.
You *do* have to be signed in to the app, however.it doesn't appear that the apps phone home, but check with the Amazon app to see if authorized.
Edit: Hope this info from Amazon helps:

No. Once an app is installed, a user can use the app without having internet access.
How can you verify that the user has an entitlement to the app without internet access?
During the installation process for an app, the Amazon Appstore client downloads a small token that grants the user the right to access the application. A valid token permits the user that purchased the app to access their app offline. The Amazon Appstore client will periodically communicate with Amazon servers to refresh the token.

Testing now..
I'm going to sign into Amazon, then disable wifi and try to launch..
K, successfully signed in to Amazon Market.. Leaving it running and going to disable wifi, then launch Rio..
Nope...
Angry Birds RIO is running. I can see it and hear it..
But there's a window on top of it saying:
Internet Needed
Please connect to the Internet to run this app.
(Going to click OK, which is the only choice)
Angry Birds Rio just closed...
So, no, it doesn't work for me..

The web based Android Market does indeed make browsing to locate a tasty app much easier. However, you still need the Android Market app on your device. When you select to install an app in the web interface, it merely marks it in your account to be installed. The Market app on your device then sees that you want the app and installs it automatically, but it will only get installed if you have a functioning Market app on your device.

Have you at any point ran the app while connected so it could get the token?

Yep, several times I've played Rio...
Not a lot, but several times..
I did notice that the Market App doesn't work too well for me.
When I choose menu and then settings, it starts to show the settings screen, then pops back to the Amazon market home screen.
Same thing when I go to menu - My Apps..
Weird..

Wasnt able to DL apps until I did that..
I just tried to re-install it.
Uninstalled everything...
Re-installed from a fresh link from Amazon (they e-mail a link).
(I tried re-installing from the apk I DLd from here again yesterday, this morning I was starting totally new)
I reinstalled, it loaded.
I logged in. It took me to My Apps (not sure if this was the first time that worked, but that doesn't usually..).
I re-DLed the first app on the list.
It DLed, and I installed it. It took me back to the Main Amazon Appstore page..
I went back to My Apps, and it showed it briefly, and went back to the Appstore Main page.. Just like it used to do..
So, somethings still not happy...
Oh well..
Update: (Still not working)
Doing more playing.. I noticed that in my Amazon account info, it showed a whole bunch of "devices".
Names like: unknown PD_Novel_1, unknown PD_Novel_2, etc..
So I uninstalled everything from my WPDN.
I deregistered the devices from the Amazon page..
I installed Amazon Appstore on my WPDN..
Logged in, and I had unknown PD_Novel show up.. OK, so far so good..
Reinstalled Angry birds.. Downloaded fine.. Installed fine... Went back to the Apps screen. (It let me back in to that screen) Launched it from there.. It started, and gave me an error that said I should re-download it.. I clicked OK, went back to the Appstore, and I had to log in again.. Hmmm
I did.. Logged in again fine.. Checked my account again, and:
unknown PD_Novel AND unknown PD_Novel_1 now..
So, when I logged back in, it created a new "device"..
Hmmm...
So, I killed the appstore, and logged back in.. ANOTHER NEW DEVICE..
Everytime I log in, I am getting a "new device" in my Amazon account..
And apps aren't working for me.. At all now.. I know I played Angry Birds Rio and Doodle Jump a few times when I first got them, but I can't now...
Oh well...

Interesting...I just went in to the Amazon App Store, downloaded and installed the free Solitare app. After installation, immediately turned wifi off. The solitare game works perfectly with wifi off. Have been in and out of it several times within the last hour and it works fine. BTW, its the only app that I've gotten from Amazon.

Weird.. I know, based on the other threads I've seen, that I'm not the only one having this issue, so I wonder what it is...
Possibly something about JIT or not JIT or ???
(I used the GAPPS flash, so I'll check what versions I'm running...)

I'm using the optimized libdvm.so (non-JIT) posted by spidengo in the firmware development section.

OK, I'll try that..
er.. this weekend, as I've been using flash based installs/upgrades and haven't bothered to set up ADB stuff..
I am comfortable in the shell tho, so I might just do it all manually...
