well i had a rockchip tablet but i killed it stoned dead by flashing the wrong firmware to it. going to buy a new one probably with a cortex a13 cpu? not sure which ones have good battery life though, want it for watching some divx films and and a few ebooks.

Just picked up a Pipo S1 7" and I like it. It appears the firmware needs to be updated and it doesn't have the cool Jellybean look of the Nexus, even though it is Android 4.1.1. Just learning about Rockchip tablets.

Well, I HAD a Pandigital SuperNova, but it just died. After installing the mods and ROMs created here, it ran much better, but then the power connector seemed to not work, though it charged through the USB port, but now it won't even do that anymore. It's completely dead. I've tried contacting Pandigital, and (big surprise) I get no response. I sent them a message a few weeks ago, and have heard absolutely NOTHING.

I'm going to use some $ I got for Christmas to get a new tablet, and was looking at the Kocaso M870. It's an 8 inch, so I can use the keyboard/case I got for my PDSN with it. It's got these specs:

I have the old (1½ years) RK97D with Android 2.3.1 which can't upgrade.
Then I have the new Icoo D70 Pro II with Android 4.1.1 with a bad battery but cheap and speed OK.
I've ordered a new 9.7" Tablet, The Freelander PD80 with Android 4.1.1 and RK3066 chip.

micro usb port is a host port so i got an adapter (micro usb->usb 2.0 female) and am using a targus 4 port usb splitter - hooked up a wireless mouse (logitech m325) and a nice case with built in keyboard to it. works fantastic. picked the case up off of amazon.com for $12(usd). got one for the wife and daughter's tablets too (wife has the same model as me, daughter has a Craig 7" CMP741e). also have a cheap usb bluetooth adapter i plugged in, but have yet to get it working. think i have to download the drivers and try using modprobe or something. i'll try it out eventually. installed a multitude of applications - from a terminal emulator to need for speed most wanted and many points in between. love this device. it's a handy little unit for business and for play.

i haven't got a tablet yet, but I'm considering one of the chinese ones like Pipo M1 or the Momo 12 because I'm starting to figure out that there are so many patent limitations on normal tablets that it's really dumbed the market down... Ipad won't allow slots, neither will google just because they want everyone buying their other warez and on the cloud, and the list just goes on and on...

I've got a Freelander PD20. It was the cheapest 7 inch tablet I could find that had GPS. I paid 101 dollars with shipping from Pandwill. So far it seems alright, a bit slower than I was expecting though. The Chrome browser just crawls on it, Opera runs much faster but I find Opera sometimes messes up images on certain webpages.

I've got an Icoo D70 Pro2 that is very impressive. Battery life is only about 2 hours,so, I keep it plugged in at my desk or use my external battery when I'm out. I thought that this was just going to be a toy type of thing, but, it turns out to be a very powerful and fast tablet and very lightweight also. It comes apart very easy to inspect the innards or to change the battery. I like it so much that I just ordered a second one to give to my wife because she keeps using mine and enjoys it so much and I never get to use it. Android 4.1, Google Playstore and many more excellent apps. Also excellent display quality on my 46" TV using the tablet output from HDMI. I've had Ipad Mini and Nexus 7 and other than the lack of Bluetooth and the short battery life this is just as good, plus, the bonus is that if someone steals this tablet or I lose I'm only out $83. Can't beat it for that price.
