Even came pretty fast (less than a week).
I had heard some stories on issues with cheap cables, but this one did work for me. 8 bucks shipped.

Sounds great!
The reason you "hear about issues" with cheap cables is because they want to sell you the the more expensive ones coated with unicorn feathers.
Seriously, HDMI is much like USB. Remember when USB first came out? Now I have about 30 mini-usb cables laying around, and they all work.

The quickest way to find any lost gadget or part is to order a replacement.

Monoprice is a Great place to get cables of almost any type. $3-$7 depending on length:

I was going to buy one there, but given the uncertainty I took a chance on buy.com. But $3 is obviously better then $8, if it works.
If anyone else has tried the monoprice one on a Xoom and confirmed its working, that would be great to know. I also heard that monoprice takes a while to ship, I think (maybe coming from Hong Kong?).
