I have an 8" tablet (MID PC-802) with Android 2.0 installed. Have had it for all of 5 mins & the screen locked. Now the touch screen is unresponsive & I can't unlock it – so it's basically a brick. I have drained the battery in the hope it might reset, but no luck on that.

Can anyone suggest how to do a full hardware reset, as it seems like it may be the only option (documentation may as well not have come with the unit).

You should have the adapter with 2 USB and RJ45 connector for to connect via the 30pin connector to the device. Connect the adapter and have a USB mouse connect to it, start your device and see you could now run the Tab.

Report back please.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. Unfortunately it was not supplied with an adapter so I cannot attempt taht troubleshooting.

Is there anything else I could try? It seems that all the physical buttons are responsive (volume, menu & power) just not the touch screen.

Seems to be that your Touch Screen didn't work.

If the touch screen isn't broke, maybe the connection isn't fit properly. If you didn't mind to void the warranty, open the device and check the small flat cable with mainly 4 connection lines it really fit in it's socket

I just had make some photos from that connector button:
1.: without the cable and in unlocked stage

2. Look from front:

3.: Flat Cable in

4.: and locked

Please keep in mind this are just sample pictures and that may looks different for your device. But the Connector will look the same. In real you've 2 of that flat cables: 1 for the LCD Screen and the 2. for the Touch Screen. For the LCD that cable will have some ~50 connection lines while for the Touch Screen they will be mainly 4 lines.

hoppe that helps.

If you refuse to open the device, you could only send back to seller.

This PC-802 tablet looks like Eken M007. However, I have tried getting a Eken Adaptor (picture below) but it did not work. Maybe the 30 pin wiring different. Anyone know where can buy compatible one that works or know the configuration to custom made one?Attached File  Adaptor from Pandawill don't work.jpg   10.47KB   2 downloads
