Latest version : 0.8.1 - June 10th, 2011

Need to know beforehand :
Bootloader (RK28xxLoader(L).bin) 5.0 - this is the bootloader used in most roms here ( LeFeu, Flip)
My device : Wopad Capactive from Pandawill - link

Install on own risk.... make sure you have a similar device !!

v0.8.1 - 100611 - link
- Using N9 ROM
- Added initlogo.rle and removed bootanimation.zip
- Removed Adobe fonts to make room in the ROM
- Added Zeam Launcher, and kept original Launcher. Choice now on startup
- All of the changes that were done before, except JIT (doesn't work yet), such as:
-- updated google framework
-- updated market
-- added quickboot, spareparts
-- removed no network coverage icon
-- enlarged /data
-- /system writable
-- probably more

Note : Because JIT doesn't work (yet hopefully) this ROM is slower than 0.7.0.

Complete Changelog

Flashing instructions

How to get full market (thanks to LeFeu)
1) Open the market, and sign in with your account.
2) After that accept the terms and you'll see an empty market. Close the market.
3) In the notification bar you'll see an update 'icon'. Wait for it to disappear.
4) Go to Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> All
5) Scroll down to Market, open it and clear the cache
6) Go back, scroll up to Google Framework Services, and open it, delete the data
7) Now reboot and go to Market, you should now see a fully Market.
*) I've noticed that sometimes after the reboot it takes me a second try to get the full market (so steps 4 and further again)

Observations for this ROM
- wifi sleep policy is set to 'when screen is off'. Needs to be set to never (at least for me)
- after boot turn screen off and on to make touchscreen work
- Auto-rotate needs to be turned on in Zeam Launcher to also make homescreen rotate
- it thinks it's a phone now.. so the phrase MID is gone..

@LeFeu : please do :)

I have the same device as you have.. it's the kernel.img from flip's  and (your) ROM.
Oh yeah, I only enlarged /data a bit, to have more room there.

I tried playing an xvid, played fine for me.

Pleas

I'm glad to know you because I am working with XP Sweet.

There are few things I do not do (ok With Linux), eg increasing the memory as you did.

I have also already installed on my Froyo WOPAD, but I is not the video in my version.

I is not found it useful to propose, for the same problem exists on APAD (no video), I is not solved!

I'm adding the jithack, my son took WOPAD, I'd work for him to return.

:)

Updated my post.. it's not working for you?  Stink...... works for me.. weird. I deleted the TSCalibration.apk from the original rom, because i don't have a resistive screen.

I'll try to flash with 'our' version of the boatloader. If it works, i'll upload that rom.

And i seem to notice that after a boot, I need to turn the screen off and on once for the touchscreen to work.. still investigating that.

No, I doubt it, the libraries seem to be the same. When I get a working market, I'll try angry birds :)

I have a Market that operates at 90%

There is just a parameter that is failing, Froyo wants to install applications on the internal memory, the problem is!

But the downloaded application is in download folder on the internal memory, it is just to install them.

I finish and upload a system.img with the Market.

It will clear the cache and delete the Market Data Service framwork and re-boot.

He works very well.

For the Market to the first use:

1) connect to the Market and Wait for the update.
2) download one application (installation error)
3) go to applications parameters
4) Clear the cache of the Market
5) delete data framework_services
6) re-boot and go to Market

Applications downloaded from the Market is located in the "download" in the internal memory of the MID.

system.img:

Think turn ON Compcache in SPARES PARTS.

I removed the telephone network icon in the status bar.

Your v0.2 gives me the same error SD / internal memory  :-

Hi, I've already modified the original recovery.img to be controllable by the keys we've got on our pads (I've got the one which is totally the same as Wopad). Escape/back button may be used to scroll through the options in recovery menu, menu key may be used to run highlighted option.
Find it here http://www.sendspace.com/file/1ww9ru

Thanks melvincz and Li0nHeart.

I will flash melvincz's recovery.img and try to update to Froyo that way.

Otherwise i will use RKAndroidBatchUpgrade which is what i used to root my Wopad in the first place i just tought there was a easier and better way to do this i am using Linux and i will have to use vmware and boot up windows.

I think I figured out why the NAND flash is not being recognized.. my mistake I think..
I used the HWDEF and parameter file from my own 2.1 rom.

In that I added an extra partition (/system2) to have a rw system and mounted the flash on mtdblock9

In this rom it's not there, so it's trying to mount the standard mtdblock8 for flash. It's there, but it's not formatted.

I'll make another ROM with the fix (first have to test and also include latest system.img by LeFeu)
