IMPORTANT malware alert for anyone with an Android 2.1/2.2 device (especially Market enabled):

I'm trying to patch up all my ROM's, and this is no exception. In the meantime, please be aware of this.

If you have adb access, you can plug up this hole yourself, using these instructions: http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=977154

Thanks for the heads up on this. Glad you offered the explanation on the OTG i had not explored the capability but will certainly give my usb gadgets a run through.

Sorry your having issues with the flashing, hope it doesn't slow down any future updates from you.

I haven't been able to get any 2.x ROM's to work, in the last week or so. I've flashed and re-flashed a number of times.

I think I need SmartQ to release at least a 3.0, so I can work off of that. In the meantime, the only firmware (mod or otherwise) that's working for me is the 1.x based ones. Of course my real hope is that they just completely bypass Android 2.1 and release a 2.2 firmware.

FYI, there's a new restore process: http://www.smartdevi...02/10-1286.html (use Google translate to view it)

They are using the newer FWDN tool, so I will check it out. My device has REFUSED to patch any 2.x firmware for the last two weeks - I'm hoping this will fix it.

Can I use this on my DFP 7002 800mhz? I'm really having trouble finding a proper firmware for it.

BUMP for new version (still 2.1 based, unfortunately). Added the DroidDream fix and a fix I found for Angry Birds (nod in the changelog on that).

This is only for the SmartQ R10 -- the whole upgrade process is fine tuned for the R10 and I doubt it would work anywhere else (even on another SmartQ device).

Btw, I saw a 2.2 firmware from SmartQ on the T10 -- unfortunately that's not a Telechips CPU so it most definitely would not work on the R10. I keep hopinh they'll eventually have a 2.2 based release for us.

Hi Roe,

Thanks for the update and fix for the birds!

Do you have an issue with the audio and video being out of sync? , i have tried quite a few media player apps and i always get this problem with avi's and mkv's. Also i noted it does not like the 32gb micro SD i bought, often it reports a corrupted card requiring me to eject the card and re-insert to make it work, now i have had to revert back to my 8gb for consistent performance

In all honesty do you think they will release a 2.2?

Cheers

I haven't such problems. I recommend to try mVideoPlayer.

I have the same problem with 16Gb microSD. When my pad has awoke, it always lost the card. But old 2Gb is Ok. I didn't find decision. T__T

At worst, could maybe someone to make script for remounting SD-card(GScript for)?

Do you try MultiLing keyboard? It's Gingerbread-based too, but you can change size of keyboard and key font size - it's very handy. And there is some another preferences.

Thanks for your job!

They released two T10 2.2 versions and nothing for us, so I'm beginning to think that they've abandoned this thing.

And yes, I've always had slight syncing issues with video. Right now, all I use this thing for is reading comics (which is does very well, because of the screen). But I'd be surprised if this got any bettter - I hope SmartQ proves me wrong.

Same with my 32GB card, but it doesn't happen 100% of the time. As for Mutliling, I I haven't checked it out.

I wrote to SmartQ support lately(micro SD problem about). They said - reinstall firmware. :( I asked 2.2 firmware about - no answer.

But look at here http://www.pandawill...page%3D1&page=1
This is firmware Android 2.3 for the same CPU Telechips TCC8902. Could you or someone else remake it for R10 maybe?

Thanks for the link and sorry for the delay (I admittedly don't spend much time in this area, anymore).

Interesting that they managed to get 2.3 on any Telechips device - so maybe there's hope for us one day. I might give this a try, but I fully expect it to crash. The main issue will likely be the kernel itself, I'm guessing there's a 2.6.32 one in there.

I couldn't get a 2.2 hack to work, so I'm not expecting much from this. To be honest, now that I have my Transformer, my R10 doesn't get a lot of love anymore. Maybe good as a backup device, as I would not expect to be able to sell it for more than $150 US.

Any idea if it's even supported? Completely different device than the R10, so I honestly don't know. I would recommend installing adb and checkng logcat or dmesg, to see if it says anything.

As for this R10, I still own mine but it's been relegated to a backup device since I got my Transformer. I'd still like to see 2.2 (or 2.3) on this thing as it might fix certain bugs, at least. Comon SmartQ, where's our update??

I'm building my own kernel based on telechips source for the R10, and got zImage and other things.I just haven't figured out how to pack the kernel back into the recovery image like those ones you provided. Would you please show me a path?
