It is still blocked?
The page had been attacked by hackers a few days ago but since noscript blocked the malware link for me i deactivated the warning '^^ (not a clever thing to do)
I think the page is cleaned up by now at least i cant see any hijacked links or foreign running scripts on the page anymore. (but my system could also be compromised)

i have a multi upload mirror of the firmware i linked to here
Also you could do at least some looking around and find THIS stickyed topic about firmware news in this very same forum section.
Also you can find instructions on how to update the firmware in that thread.

The firmware for our pads canbe altered very easy,
the way it comes from the official releases you cant run skype on it, you might have limited Market access, you do not have access to ADB and you cant root it.
That all can be remedied if you know how and some people like ransagy post their modified (tempered :p) firmware for our benefit.

Dont be lazy, it anoys people ;)

Ok, tried it again and it worked. First time did nothing. Thank you for your help.
The real reason that I screwed up is because the android OS is a new thing to me. I am a linux/windows guy.
I wanted to turn off my cell phone radio signal as it uses 80% of my battery life.
How do I go about this without messing it up again?
Thanks,

Nevermind I found the forum. :)
Thanks again.

Our tablet have a problem where the IMEI are all zeroes "000000000000000" (used in Android Emulator).
This can cause problems with some paid apps from Market, they search for a valid IMEI and if it gets a NULL response, they search for a valid Mac Address. The problem is our tablet do not answer with a NULL value.

Swype, Spectral Souls and some other apps have this problem.

The solution is to modify the framework.jar file and in the TelephonyManager, modify from zeroes to send a NULL value. Our developer may know how to do it.

I fixed mine putting MY IMEI from my phone. But it is not the best solution.

I need to ask.

I'd love to have a Herotab C8 (I hope to get mine soon), but with all this issues would you still think this device worth it?

I know it's a generic but can you have a good time with this device or this reported issues pop up every 10 minutes and theres no joy.

I also have a M7009 (although it has 2Gb NAND chips).
I opened it and saw that the wifi antenna was hidden between the batteries and the screen.
I unhitched the antenna and I have repositioned over the plastic cover and now works much better.

Regarding wifi signal strength;
I recently received my C8 and opened it up to check things out (yes a hair dryer is a good friend when removing the back cover)...anyhow, one issue I noted was that the wifi antenna had come loose from the rear panel. It's just held in place by a bit of stickum and looks to be easily dislodged. The antenna appears to be a J-pole design, mounted in the horizontally polarized position (when holding the device with the camera at the top) on the rear panel on the lower portion, opposite of the speaker and directly beneath the battery pack. It should be reasonably efficient for signal. If signal strength appears to be an issue, try rotating the tablet 90 degrees and recheck signal strength. If the signal becomes acceptable with the tablet rotated, you have 2 options. First is to simply hold the tablet in this position for optimal signal strength. Second option is to rotate your wireless router antenna 90 degrees to the horizontal position. This is most easily done if the router has an external antenna, but still possible simply by rotating the router 90 degrees. If you still have signal issues, then possibly the antenna has become dislodged and is resting in a less-than-optimal position inside the unit.
Be advised that opening this unit up to check the antenna is not for the faint of heart. I do not advise novices to attempt to open the unit for repairs. Teardown videos are available. Proceed cautiously and at your own risk.

@softjuarez, I think C8 is a decent tablet for a chinese & unknown tablet. it depends on what you want to do with it. if you want to mess with android system, this could do. cause the nature of the build is really unbrickable. as for me buying Gtab just for messing android system is quite a waste. but if you wan't to stick to it for a long time as a main gadget you could save more money to buy mainstream tablet like samsung or htc. they are more expensive, but more reliable than this no?

I could use some help. I'm having problems accessing my ebooks on the extsd card with aldiko. The aldiko app has an option to look on the sdcard, however, the default sdcard is the internal sdcard. Thats ok for now, but what do i do once the sdcard is full? Any help would be great.

I use FBReader and have the same problem. Anyone? i'd like to move my books to my external micro-sd (Dropad A8)

Hi guys.

I have noticed two things about the screen.

#1: when i turn the screen off (not power off), it sometimes turns back on again a few minutes later, then turns off after 30 secs, turns on after a minute. It keeps repeating that until i either use it, or power it off completely. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix for this?

#2: Sometimes when typing, if i press K (for example) on the softwarekeyboard, wait for a while, and then press another key like A, the input becomes K. It seems that it remembers my last input and when i touch the screen it reacts with the last touch i made. Same thing happens if i the App-menu. If i press Angry Birds it can open anoter application because its located where i last touched the screen with my finger. What´s wrong? Anyone else with this problem too?

Hi Guys,

I really like the Herotab c8. It's better than the other android tablets.
However, I do have a small problem with the camera. The g-sensor of the camera is reversed.
When I move the tablet 90 degrees to the right, the camera goes 90 degrees to the left.

Does anybody know how I can solve that problem?

Regards,

Diego

about the screen turning on and off by itself, try leaving the pad and let the screen shut down by itself, think it works. also noticed that the G-sensor isn't smooth when playing asphalt or homerun battle. any game that uses the g-sensor will be affected I guess, any solution for this?
