Hey everybody,
I'm a new user on these forums, but I've been checking out Slate Droid for a while now.
I got an Augen Gentouch78 for Christmas (Yay!), I found a few interesting things:
It came preloaded with Augen's 2nd Update: Has the home button and volume, and calibration, usb charge, ect.
It has a working microphone, located in the black border bottom left side of the screen
[Augen]Market is working by default but I got it to work somehow and then did a System wipe and can't get it again.
Updated 3.5mm audio jack
MicroSD card slot is aligned correctly though you could still loose the card in the unit
I have Windows 7 64bit and when I plugged the tablet in, some default drivers were found and I can see the internal space in my computer but not the sd card, so to put stuff on it I have to use an adapter and card reader.
I have installed Eclipse with JDK6 and the Android Plugin. That's as far as it goes.
I need help, I need to install LinkCracker's update as well as the Non-Ugly market fix.
When I try to follow the instructions, the command prompt window comes up and pauses at "waiting for device" and I do the manual reset on it while holding the back button, and it just boots back up normally and doesn't update.
Does anyone know what my problem could be? I'm sorry if this has been addressed before, I've looked around a bit, to no avail.
.:Edit:.
My Market is working, though it's only the default market, not Android. I was able to update AndExplorer to v1.6 and AndAppStoreClient to v1.6.8.

I had the same exact problem and found a post saying to use the PdaNet 64-bit drivers to be able to see the sd card on your Gentouch.
The drivers can be found on this webpage: http://www.junefabri...id/download.php

From everything I have gathered from this forum and others none of those updates/patches work on the 2nd Gentouch version (3.5 headphone, white power button). Augen is supposedly working on an update but who knows how that will turn out.

Hey man, thanks! The drivers help out a ton, now I don't have to take the sd card out and find the adapter every time I want to load some new .apk's.
That sucks that the updates don't work for my second gen, but that's okay because I do have a pretty good Android phone (Sanyo Zio) and I can just download stuff from the market and transfer the .apk's to my Augen through DropBox for now.
Thanks for the help!
Edit:
After successfully setting up the ADB and such I rooted my Gentouch! I think the next step is to tweak it to my likings. I still don't have Google Apps but that's alright. I want to get a nice home screen set up and further optimize the hardware with like SetCPU and other programs.
Using Augen's usb/sd card update I am now able to see the sd card in My Computer. This all took like 3 days of frustration and everything just clicked tonight!
Does anyone have any suggestions for Android Apps that can connect to my home network and stream media off of my computer? Not just music but also documents like ebooks and pdf's.

I use drop box for android for streaming. onlly downside is that you get 2gbs any larger drop box will cost you a little bit of cash to me it was well worth the 20.00
