                I have got a tablet, which has specs as follows
Processor: 300Mhz (VIA i think)
Memory: 128MB
Charger 9V
Micro SD card support.
Micro USB port
Model No: Generic (what could that mean?)
Kernal Version: 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty
Build No.: WMT1.9.1_710Cu
Android 1.6 (DONUT).
On the back side its written "MID"; Input Power: 9v; Designed and Made in China.
Also there are three more switches on the perpendicular side for POWER and VOLUME UP & DOWN.

Please let me know if I can flash a custom ROM on this and if yes how?

Could be an Apad iRobot or even maybe an Flytouch or an Eken M002.  The Flytouch's mainly having 256 MB Memory but some also found with 128 MB.

Take a look at the forum related to the Apad iRobot, Flytouch and Eken M002.

                  After a bit of googling around I have came to conclusion that mine is VIA8505 (ARM926EJ-S rev 5 (v5l)) having bogMIPS 174.48. Now what should I do to install the ROMs

And ive been point out here by admins on HcH because there is support here for the cortex A8
I bought a Xiron ATP7483 Excellent 8 8inch tablet (dutch) and it seems this is called diffrent in the UK
im hoping i can identify this in any off the tablets you support,. so i can get going on Rooting this tablet to put a Custom rom on it,.
for Tablets this is brand new for me and in my experience a tad harder to find since im searching for support on this for weeks now,.
im familliar with flashing rooting.etc.. on my HTC Desire,.using custom roms on it,.
so i hope i can join some dev community supporting my tablet,..

It's a Hyundai H700 but without HDMI-out.

I am new here also and I cannot make a new thread yet.

This is my very first tablet ever. I am interested in improving the OS.

I bought my tablet off craigslist. it was listed as: "Irobot epad tablet,android system"

The box is white and says iRobot on it.. the manual doesnt tell me anything about the device, only how to use it.

It has a Silver back. Slit in the back for speakers. webcam on the left. Menu button on the right with a square on it. a rocker button on the top for menu and home.
2.5mm power plug (9v) 3.5mm headphone jack, usb, power switch, usb, micro sd slot.

in settings it says:

Kernal Version - 2.6.25 rockchip version 1.2.7 (LaoTang)

I have no idea what kind of touchscreen this is.

I have been really trying to figure out how to put a custom rom on here, but it seems like everyone is bricking their tablet.
If someone could point me in the right direction or show me where I can pick up all the lingo and terms so I can understand what I am reading, that would be great!

Hi all! Android newbie here. I bought my MBI i7 tablet in Malaysia while on vacation just this Oct 10. I brought it with me back home in the Philippines and it was great but it only worked for 3 days. Now it's not booting at all. I've tried every possible way to factory reset and even root the device and it still won't boot. Please please please help. I don't want my money go to waste. Hi, regarding the first post, I think it is an EKAM M002, but I am not sure because of the processor, you should google until you find your model. I did google for almost 10 hours and at last found my Tablet model.

I believe I have got the same tablet as shreevs'

It just says 'MID' at the back, looks almost the same as in the pictures with slight differences.
Red LED - Charging and Green LED - Power
I know the CPU inside is ARMv5 and Memory is 256 MB

So far I have only been able to successfully install two firmwares and when viewed from 'Settings/About', they look like

Model Number: Generic
Firmware: 1.6
Kernel version: 2.6.29-00230g4f8dbbb-dirty
Build Number: WMT2.0.1_88

AND

Model Number: EKEN 256 MB
Firmware Version: 1.9.88.v03
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty
Build Number 1.9

VIA8505 WMT2.0_105 too installed successfully but the touch screen won't work

Now my question is how do I recognize the Android version of these firmwares?
And if anyone can tell me with certainty which model is my slate, I will be really grateful!

Hello everyone. I just bought a tablet labeled as zenithink c71 but in appearance its a bit different which makes me wonder if its a clone of it.
1) the color is not black, red, and white. The screen area is bordered black but the rest is entirely white.
2) the number of ports is not the same or in the same places. On the left mine has the power port, mini usb, hdmi, a tiny reset pin hole, headphone jack and mic. Where as the zenithink in addition has two mini usb and tf card on that side. My tf card is on the tablets back lower left side.
3) the speaker on the back has two slits instead of three.

Those are the slight difference in my tablet. Is it still a zenithink c71??
