How to backup (dump) firmware?

dd seems better, u can dump more than just rootfs (tgz method).

When I use dd, do I have later the possibility to edit or view into the image?If yes, how?

Backup on live system are not very secure (especially if done by DD).A better and correct method is to boot another Operative System (i.e. a little linux) and then backup partitions (with dd or tar), but I think that is not easy do to on Flytouch.Backup done by dd can be mounted on linux pc simply using loop device if source backed up partitions are on MMC/eMMC memory.Instead if source backed up partitions are on pure MTD memory you must use a MTD emulator on linux pc (i.e. nandsim) to mount them
